This is a fabulous set! The case comes very nicely packaged in a small recyclable cardboard box (no plastic). The case is soft, easy to clean oil cloth, and it just has a really lovely, high-end look to it. There's a strap that you can attach to carry it around, which we've happily done. I love that it's easy to hang near coats and other things so that it's easy to grab as we leave the house. Included are a pencil, colored pencils, scissors, a 6 inch ruler, a pencil sharpener, a glue stick, and an activity book. The pencils arrive sharpened and ready to go. The art materials are all labeled Pipity. I have been really pleased with how high quality and durable the art materials are -- I expect they'll last a very long time. The activity book is FABULOUS! There are really diverse, engaging activities, included small crafts, logic puzzles, patterning, doodling, etc.I actually bought this for a child below the suggested age range -- 4.5. He loves it and finds it super engaging. It's definitely something that we do together, at home on a rainy day, waiting in a restaurant, etc. I can see that my first-grader, who's in the suggested age range, would be much more independent with it, though he'd still need an adult to read the directions. (I'm guessing a 7-8 year old would be completely independent). One feature that we haven't tried yet is that you can also view the directions on YouTube, which could be fabulous for an older kid to work on this without needing adult support. But I would not hesitate to buy this for a preschooler as I find it quite engaging for us to do together.I'd love to be able to purchase a pad of blank paper that can easily fit in the pouch, for doodling and other whatnots. I'd also be first in line to buy a preschool version of this product -- my younger child is quite often dragged around to the older kid's events, appointments, etc and we're always looking for things to do on the go!This would make a fabulous gift for both girls and boys. It's great for use on the go and really attractive and engaging.

I am so impressed with this item. I purchased it for my seven-year-old daughter and she loves it. We spend about an hour each way for her school commute so we are no stranger to having some sort of travel activity. In my observation of her play, there are two amazing things about this kit, which make this the only travel toy you need for a school aged child: 1. The activity books are awesome. We have done our fair share, but these are her favorite. They are not just bland word searches. They include little people she colors, cuts out, and tapes together, fun games, guess who, etc. They are truly unique and creative. 2. The pipity has everything she needs for the pipity and all the other things she does in the car. Need a scissors? It's right there in her case. Pencil sharpener? Right there in her case. Same for glue, ruler, colored pencils, etc. I am no longer stretching while driving to find a scissors or glue stick. The bonus of this product is the way she can wear it like a messenger bag and bring it into school or if we're headed to a restaurant, she can certainly keep herself entertained. It's high-quality, super cute, and very practical. If you have a school-age child, look no further. I plan to purchase a couple to keep as gifts for other kids.

Great activities that come with it! The pencils are poor quality but you can add your own!

We just got this for a Christmas present for our 3 year old daughter. It seems very well made and it’s just adorable. The pencils, scissor, etc inside look like good quality. We have received two emails so far from the company checking to see if we are satisfied. Update: my daughter loves this thing. She glues and colors and cuts and loves bringing the bag around with her. I put a regular pad of paper in there for now so she can freestyle draw.Update: it’s now March and my daughter is obsessed. It keeps her entertained for a long time. The sharpener has a case that traps the scraps. I use a regular notepad bc my girl is too young to follow the activities. We’ve gotten so many compliments on this thing. She carries it around like a bag. I’ll be getting one for my other daughter soon.

This was a gift for my daughter and it is so great! It came with everything she needs to keep herself entertained when we are traveling! We added some plain paper cut to the size of the booklet so she could draw her own creations as well. A great product!
