Worth the time, money, and effort!
First pic shows porch lights I inherited when I bought my house. Notice poor installation with large gap at top. Constant source of fear when pressure washing. Lights are also not perpendicular to wall but lean back at top.Second pic shows new light fully installed correctly. Notice no gaps and, although pic may not highlight this, light is perfectly perpendicular to wall.Pic 3 shows completed light installation of both lights. I'm just proud of my work. :)Pics 4 and 5 show both sides of the product when it arrived. May seem irrelevant, but I wanted to see the back prior to buying but couldn't find a pic showing it.Pic 6 shows the drill holes I made in the recess. There is a circular and a rectangular recess from which to choose. Rectangular worked best in my situation. Theoretically, you don't have to remove the center, if your wires are positioned in the right spot; you can just stick each wire through a separate hole. Mine weren't, hence the removal of the rectangular portion.Pic 7 shows me using a flat head screwdriver to break the tiny pieces still attached. Once a few were broken, I was able to push the rectangle out because of the perforation I made with the drill. If you have the right tools, good for you. I don't but solved the problem this way.Pic 8 shows the completion of said removal.Pic 9 shows how I installed the mounting board. Is it the correct way? Who knows! Supposedly, the company's website has installation instructions. If you're able to find them, I suggest you buy a lotto ticket because you're one lucky devil! After finding the right location for my wall and sconce, I screwed the sconce's mounting bracket through the mounting board securing it to the wall and siding. TIP: use tape to temporarily hold the mounting board in position while you drill your holes for the mounting brackets (my dad is a genius:)).When you receive your mounting board and dry fit it (because you will), do not despair! Almost all of those gaps you see will disappear when you attach the sconce's mounting bracket securely to the wall.I hope this helps those who are capable of such jobs yet always doubt their ability. You can do it!

Easy and quick installation
Way easier than trying to add a mounting block to an old house. Just pre-drilled the holes where I wanted them and attached it to the house.
