This text has a thorough introduction to each of the theorists listed. It tells you a bit about each theorist as a person, the fundamentals of their theories, and gives examples of what application looks like. Each chapter has a few questions and discussion points at the end as well as recommendations for further reading.Emphasis on early childhood, most chapters only going from birth to ages 5-7. Great reading of education philosophies.
Great for class and knowledge for taking Praxis test. Great in helping education majors develop their own philosophy of education.

Attainable
Mooney does a great job of making the theories of the psychologists attainable. They are made attainable in understanding and application. She also does not use excessive words to do so. I highly recommend this book to all early childhood educators that desire to see children grow and love life while doing so.

Good Book
This book operates on the hypothesis that a knowledgeable teacher is cognizant and fluent in the basic theories of education. The book is divided into sections which give a historical perspective of that particular theorist and then gives a very readable and usefl synopsis of their main theoretical contributions to language teaching. I particularly liked the sections on Erickson, Montesorri and Vygotsky.

Easy Read
I loved this book. It was written in the way that actually helped you understand the different theorist and what that looks like in a classroom. I often purchase these books and they are written with language from many years ago which for some people, like myself, can be hard to understand. It’s an affordable book all college students pursuing a degree in education should have.

Required reading for my school
I thought this book was very insightful on the different methods in childhood development. I really enjoyed that throughout the author made connections to other theorists. Such as Erickson's work reflecting Montessori's. If suggest this for augmenting into Early Childhood Education , especially if you are leaning towards Montessori (which you should haha)

Extremely helpful
A life saver! I am doing a paper on psychology and this book is amazing! My English is not the best but this book is so well written that even a child could learn about Piaget and Erickson. The writer has explained in a simple manner things that at the Uni I couldn't understand.

Easy, Quick Read Covering 5 Foundations
LOVE this book. It's a good primer on 5 of the foundational early childhood theorists and it's a very easy and quick read. I'd love if they'd come out with another one covering Gerber, Malaguzzi, Bandura, and Bronfenbrenner in the same format.

Very good, brief introduction to the theorists
I like this for an introduction. It is exactly what it is described as, not written in overly complicated language and good to refer back to for refreshing memory on who says what.
