As an amateur producer, this mic really packs a ton of awesome qualities into a small package. The mic records very high quality vocals and acoustic instruments. I have recorded singing, rapping, saxophones, and guitars with this mic and its always a clean signal. Works very well with Garageband on Mac. One of the best things about this mic is the gain control, which to me, works better than the Yeti. Compact, light weight, and very portable, this mic should always be in your bag if you are an amateur producer who works outside the studio.

I’ve used a wide variety of mics in my time. Top of the line Senheisers to those old old school mini-plugs the one would plug in to old old old school cassette tape recorders. Actually, just those two (joke). The IK iRig Mic Studio stacks up with some of the best. Add in the mic modeling app and you got access to some of the great microphones use throughout the history of sound recording. Love this mic. The direct connection to the iPhone is invaluable. Downside... so far the only recording app I’ve found to fully take advantage of the mic’s capabilities is IK’s own and that app is not entirely intuitive. Luckily I have half a clue when it comes to recording gear, but I still needed to monkey around a bit before I got the “tape rolling”.

Had a problem w mic stand screwing on top piece missing casing for bolt to screw in !! Pretty bummed wanted to get some recording done today...But called Customer Service and They straightened everything out for me. Other than bad part for mic tripod stand Great Mic for the price , very impressive for a lil guy , sound clarity tight condensed recording. Worked w last eat I phone no problem on GarageBand 1st try

UPDATED: This is my second time ordering this Mic! I'm really a life time fan! It's hard to find a mic that can straight up plug to most Android's! Also, most phones can detect it easy! I tried alot of other mics but this one is SALVATION! Any body who left a bad review is probably spoiled, rich or doesn't appreciate long term value 🤷🏽‍♀️ also, if you broke this mic you're an idiot because it's so durable, only terrible shipping could do that 💯*Definitely worth it! Amazing sound quality! I would suggest buying a pop filter for it too but other than that, this thing was incredible!

This microphone is acceptable and does a pretty good job. I use it for Smule karaoke. I do have to unplug it frequently and reattach to stop some strange feedback, clicks and popping. Not a big fan of what seems to be a proprietary cable. I use it on my iPhone XS and on my new Google Pixel 4a. Much better in the iPhone, but much of that is application related. Recordings seems much but and many more functions on the iOS platform

Perfect for travelling and recording without the need of an interface. Outstanding sound and performance. The fact that comes with three different cables for PC, iOS and Android is super handy. Also, no configuration of Audio/MIDI Setup, or Audio preferences. The super simple plug and play works flawlessly.

I was expecting streamer level quality at a budget, but I didn't even get that. My gaming headset has better quality. If you just looking for a gaming mic this is a great budget option, but if you are planning to stream I would look for something better.

This is my preliminary review, I'll fiddle w/ software and company and update later.Basically, it is NOT PC/Windows friendly. Here's why:- when plugged in it is not recognized at all as a microphone that can be selected- when plugged in the computer thinks it's an output speaker initially- all of the great free software they boast is NOT for Windows so you will need to buy or download third-party software- I downloaded Audible just to get it working on PC and when I begin recording there are two load electronic "clicks" which means I will have to edit every single file at the front end when I use it- company's website is really poor and is no help at all in the support or FAQ forumI'll give it more try before returning because I do like the compactness, the build quality and I read other great reviews about sound quality... but, I wouldn't know.
