The Kingdom of God

True vital need for all to read
Dr. Jones explains the hidden keys to God's kingdom in such a clear manner for those who have ears to listen. He explains how one can put their pride aside to allow their ears to hear and let God fill their soul

Great Book!
This is typical Lloyd-Jones. As with most of his books, these are a series of his sermons that were later transcribed. In my opinion, this is some of his best evangelical preaching. I was once told that if you want to learn how to preach, sit under a great preacher. Well, we can no longer hear the "fire" of the Doctor's voice, but due to this, and the many other books of his sermons published, a young preacher can at least learn how to construct a powerful sermon. In fact, as the art of preaching wanes today, this book is a must read.Lloyd-Jones was trained originally as a medical doctor, and was a rising star as a diagnostitian in London prior to his call to the ministry. He became such a popular preacher in the 20th century because he used his great skills in diagnosing the ills of the world in which he lived. This book is an example of that, and though these sermons were preached over 30 years ago, they ably show how timeless the Chirstian Gospel is. In the various sermons found in this book, he forcfully and expertly explains what Christianity is and the importance of the Christian message to a world that is falling apart.

Wow
This book is amazing. Sometime ago I started to notice how often Jesus referred to the Kingdom of God/Heaven. I wanted to do a study on it and chanced upon this book. What a blessing!

Probably the best preacher of the 20th century
All of the doctor's books are worth reading. This is a collection of sermons preached about the kingdom. It is different than some of his other books in that the texts are not consecutive. They are various Biblical texts that deal with the gospel and the kingdom. It is not as in depth as some of his more expository works like Romans and Ephesians. It deals with a more introductory topic of the gospel and kingdom.

Best book on Christianity that I've ever read
This is the best book on Christianity that I've ever read. I'm a big fan of R.C. Sproul and alwayswill be. But Martyn Lloyd Jones does a little better job, in this book, of simplifying what theChristian experience is all about. For someone who is not a "Christian" (born again) I think itmight really be just the thing that could give them an understanding of what true Christianity isall about. I think that any book that Martyn Lloyd Jones writes is well worth reading. I've been aChristian for 14 years and I read a lot about Christianity, this book just blew me away.

Love the book. Not many books I'd say a must read. This is a book that would be great for a person thats only thought of doing a christian walk,or a person thats struggled in there christian walk, all the way to someone who says,i don't really belive in that. Can't say much more than that !!

I would recommend to all people to read to gain knowledge and ...
The book was tremendous and I truly got understanding in more depth. The Author knew exactly what he was talking about and said it clearly with examples and what one must do to be born again. What got me was his analysis of various scriptures and what each line meant and how it had influence over individuals. I would recommend to all people to read to gain knowledge and not their own understanding.

One cannot find a better Evangelical leader
One cannot find a better Evangelical leader, thinker and scholar than Martyn Lloyd-Jones. He writes about the Kingdom of God and reminds us that was what Jesus preached during his earthly ministry. Too often we Christians operate from a Kingdom of this world rather than a kingdom of God perspective. Lloyd-Jones reminds us of that and challenges us to be children of the Kingdom of God.

THE RIGHTNESS OF JESUS AND HIS TEACHINGS
A bit of a heavyweight by today's standards, however there is humour and compassion in between.Quote from page 37 - "It is supposed to be the affluent age, I know, but at the same time the age of anxiety, the age of strain, the age of frayed nerves, the age of complexes. It is inevitable. The modern age is proing the rightness of our Lord's teaching."The sermon was written c. 1963. 50 years later the sermons Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones still ring true.

Truly timeless and highly recommended.
You need to understand that the original transcript has been lightly edited. So at some points there can be repitition consistent with public preaching. However those familiar with MLJ will naturally hear his voice as they read each sermon. The remarkable thing is how fresh and relevant the message sounds despite dating from fifty years ago. Truly timeless and highly recommended.

A book of sermons
This is a collection of sermons and lacks a centring narrative. ML-J is a great and clear communicator but this book didn't land because it was not written as a book and does read like written sermons. Although recently published it feels dated.

A book of Sermons
This is a book of sermons. You know how you sit through a sermon (or maybe like me sleep through it).People say afterward, "Wasn't that a great sermon!". Any we agree. But just ask them to recount one thing that was said in the sermon, and they probably can't.This book is like that, nothing sticks. The first paragraph of each chapter introduces the idea, but the development doesn't stick.Lots of people like this book and it is probably good for them. It was not so good for me.
