SITKAGear Men's Heavyweight Hunting Performance Hoody
C**.
Warm down to 50 degrees, bearable at 70 degrees
I'm based and primarily hunt out of northeast Florida. Our region experiences considerable swings in temperature from the start of Archery in September, when it can be 98 degrees, to late December when we can experience cold fronts that drop down the temps into the 20s. Keep in mind that while this does have a hoody, it is not a jacket, more like a heavyweight performance shirt. I typically layer this on top of my Sitka Lightweight hoody shirt which is what I primarily hunt in during the early season. The flannel lining keeps you warm into the upper 40s-low 50s and is pleasant to sit-in up to the 70s. If you are active, temps in the upper 60's may make it too warm and cause too much perspiration. I typically will wear this in, hiking into my tree stand when temps are in the 50's. Above that, I wear my lighweight hoody to avoid sweating, and wear this once I'm in the tree. It does not offer wind protection, so keep that in mind during breezier days. I will typically use the Sitka Jetstream jacket on top if its a little windy or a heavier hoody if the temps drop below 45 degrees or so. The thumb loops are nice for ensuring it stays around your wrist when adding or removing clothing. It's also a great piece to have during early turkey season in the springs when temps can still hit the 30s and 40s in the morning, and because its lightweight and compact, you can easily slide it into your vest once the thermals rise or you are doing a lot of running and calling.

Says heavy weight but very light weight
no wind blocking at all. Good for layering but not an outer shell

Heavyweight for Florida hunting maybe.
Heavyweight ?? Maybe if your hunting in florida. Was very deceiving. Tag even says “base layer”. This was nothing more than a long sleeve shirt with a hood. Wouldn’t do a thing here in Illinois hunting season.
