What a nice pad!!!
I'm taking a letter writing class and it was suggested that we purchase the Rhodia brand. I am impressed at how smooth the paper is and that my pens glide smoothly over the paper. Really makes a difference. Try for yourself and see!

Many-faceted purposes
I love this company and how they made paper and pads come together so elegantly and simply. I have many sizes of Rhodia pads and they never fail. They also last. Its not a pad you scribble on and throw a way. I have a definitive purpose when I use them and makes the project special.

Doesn’t live up to the hype
Seen numerous of hand lettering and calligraphers rave about these notebooks all over YouTube and Instagram so I finally decided to try one out to practice lettering and calligraphy, and honestly it did not live up to the hype. Kind of a let down. Yes, the paper is very very smooth and that’s great for brush pens and the paper will prevent the tips from fraying. But the paper is pretty transparent and you can’t use the backs of pages because of this, and some of the markers/pens will bleed right through the pages. My biggest issue with these notebooks though is how floppy and flimsy they are. There is no support or anything at the back so you have to use a desk or clip board in order to use the notebook otherwise you’ll be using your leg to press down on, which is pretty inconvenient and unstable and makes things annoyingly difficult when writing. I expected it to be a little more sturdy than it is. Love the smoothness but the bleed through, transparency and flimsiness just ruin it for me.

Like butter!
I am a hand letterer and calligrapher and I ise brush pens for a lot of my work. Rhodia paper pads have by far been my favorite to use for practicing or just leisurely writing. The paper is smooth like butter and treats my pens well. With brush pens, you have to be careful what type of paper you use them on, as the tips may tend to fray. I don't have to worry about this paper because it is the least fibrous paper I have used and the pens write so smooth with it. I use this gridded pad for sketching out lettering layouts. The size of the squares is perfect, and even writing on this paper with a regular pencil is a joy because of the smoothness of the paper. I will continue to be a faithful user of my Rhodia pads.

Amazon regularly ships the wrong item for this constantly-changing item listing. Go with another web store.
THE LISTINGS FOR THIS ITEM ARE SQUIRRELY. This is very high-quality paper, and I have given it four stars from my brief inspection. But it is not the pad described in the listing. You may see a description like "lavender dots" as I did, but you may receive a gridded pad or a blank pad. I'm not the only one to experience this; read the other reviews. Amazon's seller system is broken. Today I sent back this pad and ordered the one that I need from JetPens. Enough.I can say that Rhodia paper, whatever color or pattern, is exquisite. It doesn't show through, even with really "wet" inks. The grid, which I ordered and received through JetPens is nice for those of us who tend to write a sagging line across the paper.

What a great paper for dip pen!!!
When I got this paper, I was so stunning. Because It works well for my calligraphy even though it’s not thick paper. It’s only 21.3 lb!!!When I write down letters, I am so satisfied and feel happy and good. I thoght it was so expensive paper, but quality is great!!!

Wonderful
This is a true, 5-star notepad. It's my favorite and I buy a couple each year. It's everything you could ask for in terms of notepad style, quality and design. It looks great, feels great and functions great..The big pitfall is price. If I factored price into the equation here, I would have to knock-off at least one star. You can buy a 12-pack of standard issue notepads for about the same price as this one, and is this really 12 times better? How could it be? It's just a notepad, it can only be so good. However, I think this is quite obviously a luxury product and you know that going in, so I don't think it's fair to critique pricing here too strongly.
