Ortensi Insect TrapThe Ortensi Insect Trap uses simple physics principles to safely catch and kill insects. The sleek and elegant exterior design not only gives the device an impressive and hi-tech feel, yet functions to effectively catch unsuspecting insects. Features • Sleek, Modern and Functional Design • 360 Degree, 20-Piece UV LED Light • Vertical Air Duct with Escape Prevention Funnel • Detachable Insect Bin • Portable with Micro USB Cable • 6/12-Hour Timer Switch • Quiet Fan Operation How it Works Under the influence of the device’s attractant UV light, insects fly towards the light which is close to the intake vent. The fan produces a suction force all around the trap and intake vent, which pulls insects into the device and bin. There, they are killed by being completely dried out. The added Escape Prevention Funnel allows insects to easily be sucked inside the device but makes it very difficult for them to escape back out. Use ItIndoors: kitchens, bedrooms, study rooms, living rooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, restaurants, offices, etc. Outdoors: patios, camping tents, or other enclosed outdoor spaces The Basics • Place device in the desired area to catch insects. Make the area as dark as possible for maximum UV light attraction. Avoid placing device in the same area as humans, if possible. Some insects, like mosquitoes, are more attracted to humans than light.• Power on the device and run overnight. To help ensure insect killing, keep device on through the morning to facilitate dehydration of insects.• May use timer settings for convenience. Do not run device continuously.Safe for Families and Pets - EPA Registered One Year Manufacturer Warranty *Power plug not included*

Beautiful design and SUPER effective for ANY place in home or office!
I LOVE everything about this insect trap/catcher!! In fact, I’ve gotten lots of compliments on it! We needed a solution for our screened in patio at our new house. I was getting bitten and my husband didn’t believe me, because he said it was screened in (and HE wasn’t getting bitten). Well take a look at this! All of these little bugs are getting through the screen. But NO more! This works best if you turn it on at night, when the bugs are really drawn to the light. But I’ve tested it out in different rooms and places....the more places I tried, the more ideas I have for additional purchases.Definitely the PATIO is a great spot! It’s nice because it gives off the right amount of light without it feeling intrusive.Next I tried my PANTRY. We buy lots of fresh organic fruits and veggies, but sometimes I miss something that has a rotten spot which attracts fruit flies. So having one in the pantry and turning it on periodically has been awesome to get rid of those pesky tiny fruit flies!!! They drive me crazy and I felt like it took forever to get rid of them, but NO more! Yay!The next spot I tried was in my DINING ROOM next to one of my favorite plants. This plant requires moist soil, but that becomes the perfect breeding ground for bugs. And although I realize I might continue to get bugs if I keep this plant inside, I love real plants in my house. Because this insect trap looks so nice, I really don’t mind having it sitting out! And at night it’s a perfect nightlight! The next place I need to try this out is my OFFICE!!!! I used to have several plants in my office, but I fought the battle of those little bugs and could NOT get control of them!! I finally got rid of my plants, but now I plan on purchasing additional insect catchers so that I can keep my plants!I can’t say enough positive things about this insect trap!!! I wish I had found it sooner!!! It’s totally worth the money, considering how many plants I’ve killed or thrown away because of the insect spray or essential oils I put on the soil to get rid of the tiny bugs. And, after the first night I had it on, I wished that it had a timer...that was before I realized it already did have a timer! You can turn it on with the center button to stay on or you can turn it on for 6 or 12 hours. Looking back, I purchased it because it really looked much nicer than the other options out there (no one wants to be reminded of bugs getting zapped when they see a traditional looking insect trap). In our house I didn’t want people to get “bugged out” (lol) with an insect trap in our dining room, but it blends in with our decor which I love.

Didn't catch mosquitos
I bought it for mosquitos. We have them everywhere. It barely catches any mosquitos. Led light is too bright almost blinding when it is dark outside. It has a instruction manual with print so small you have to have a magnifying glass to read it. The instructions said to avoid looking at the led light that it is bad for your eyes. So if you have it in a location with people then it would be bad for their eyes.

Disappointing execution of a good idea
We liked the idea of not needing glue traps and a simple fan to suck bugs into the lower trap. However the fan was way too weak to really work effectively. We tried it in several locations and even in 'prime' situations it was unable to take care of the gnats that were annoying us. After ample opportunity without success we returned it.

Love it!
My Ortensi arrived today and I could not be happier. The unit is quality built and is aesthetically pleasing. It is quiet and does not overwhelm a room. It is efficient with great bug catching capability.

Useless!!
This item was completely useless for catching fruit flies. The fan is so weak you can barely feel that it's doing anything, certainly not strong enough to suck anything down into it. I left it on by my kitchen sink, which is where the most fruit flies were, for two full days and not a single bug of any kind was in it. I went back to the old apple cider vinegar and Dawn dish soap method and it collected a ton (both before and after trying this useless device. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

This thing is awesome! Don’t listen to the lies!
So I was skeptical with some of the reviews on here but decided to try this out for myself. The design is what sparked my curiosity so I went for it. THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!! I had no idea this many bugs were in my house. I ran it for about a week and the proof is in the pudding! I actually think this could be better if it was chargeable like a cellphone but I am super happy with the results! As for the other reviews make your own decisions otherwise you will miss out!
