AWESOME for cooling down large pots of chili
We have a very happy chef using this item. It's great for rapidly bringing large pots of chili to room temperature for storage and/or freezing. Home use here. Stores easily in the freezer with water, and you don't have to refill the inside between uses. Just wash off the outside with soapy water, dry off, and return to deep freeze.

Was looking for something to use at home when I make huge pots of spaghetti sauce and other things to cool down before I put in
Learned about this product in a meeting at work. Was looking for something to use at home when I make huge pots of spaghetti sauce and other things to cool down before I put in the fridge and then store in the freezer. I was using ice packs. So wrong. I use it in addition to putting the pot in a water and ice bath. Sometimes it pays to go to work meetings (which this was mandatory for the food industry even though it didn't apply to my job). I learned how to cool hot items down without them destroying and spoiling things in my fridge and not make people sick from bacteria build up. If you are a home cook and make huge pots of soup, sauce, chili or whatever buy this product to help cool it down before you put it in fridge or freezer. Make sure you follow instructions. Another way to cool down fast is to put the food item in smaller containers that you are using to put in freezer or the fridge if you don't have this product or use an ice bath. Very happy with it and purchased another one for backup and on days when I am ambitious and make more than one pot.

This product does the job!
We purchased this product to use with our crock pot soups. We put it in the soup and within 30 minutes it has reached an acceptable temperature according to standards. It is easy to clean and reuse.

Product contains BPA
The product description says "food-safe plastic construction", which is absolutely necessary since the main point is to directly cool down hot liquid. However, when I received these paddles the tag had a BPA warning. Then I went to the Jamar's website and sure enough the same warning is there too. It took me a while to get through the automated customer service to a person, but they did some research and came back with "The RCU1282 is made up of a bottle and cap. The bottle is composed of polycarbonate and contains a concentration of 0.008% BPA by weight. The cap is made of HDPE and does not require a warning label. California requires that any product containing BPA have a warning label."Okay, well what does 0.008% BPA by weight mean? My kids polycarbonate water bottles say "BPA free" with no California warning which makes think Jamar chose to use an inferior plastic. I returned the product.

So Cool
Great for cooling soups, sauces, or anything else. I prefer this "older" style paddle. The newer style has a handy hanger on the top, but is unscrewed in the middle to fill, so you are losing a lot of the space that could be ice. These are pretty durable (except the lids if you aren't careful, but they come with an extra) and as an update to previous reviews, ours didn't have any pesky stickers to remove from the outside.

Very disappointing
It already has split. Bought in April. 4 months. What are the odds of a warranty replacement. I'm guessing zero

It does its work.
Great for cooling sauces or anything else. As a production kitchen we often even use these directly in our tilt skillet to cool things before packaging. I used one before as well, They're durable (as long as they aren't dropped while full/frozen) and come with a spare lid.

Don't bother, doesn't last
This is my 2nd order and both times it has cracked. This recent order made in Aug 2022 , the item lasted one month before cracking. Very disappointed and unsatisfied with the product. Never purchasing from this vendor again.
