Very good price for the two plugs and has worked perfectly since.The shape is not too bulky either so it doesn't stick out too much.I shall be buying more when needed.

These are really easy to set up and use. You need to download the Smart Life app (look in the photos for what the icon looks like).Once you have this, ensure that you are connected to your WiFi - must be the 2.4g version if you have dual band.Plug in the Smart Plug, press and hold the button on the side until the light blinks quickly, load the app, press the plus in the top right, press the first available photo of a plug, and it should connect itself.Give it a name and you are done.Once set up, you can add it to the Google Home app or Alexa app, and use that to control the plug with your voice or as part of a routine. You can also use the app as a remote control to turn things on and off without getting up.I use mine to control lamps on a timer, another for my slow cooker, and another for a fan.The newest design of these are thicker at the back, which means they sit a little further from the socket, not so much that they are unwieldy, but enough that you can get to the switch. If using on an extension, they don't take up any more space than a standard plug, so no more wasted sockets.This is the second set of these I have bought, and I would recommend them highly.

Good news, these smart plugs work straight out of the box with a BT ROUTER (I use a smart hub 6) without any problems. Hopefully the supplier will update their information detailing how easy it is and that there is NO need to fiddle with the router's settings OR use an extender for a fix. Some wise guy put this out this out on the internet and it works exactly as specified.If you follow these instructions, it’s really quite Straightforward:Re: Connecting Teckin Smart Plugs to BT Complete WiFi:"There is no need for changing anything on your router at all, or using extenders etc.The instructions on the apps and with the plugs are misleading and poor. The discovery can't simply work as the smartplugs out of the box have no idea which wifi network to connect to, or any passwords etc so they cannot possibly get onto the wifi network, hence the discovery fails.(The only reason extenders work is because the extenders have the login details for the network so the plugs don't need to know them to get on.)When using the App (smart life) Put the plug into pairing mode by holding the button in for 5 secs until it is flashing quickly.1) Press the + sign to add manually2) Choose Socket3) Select AP MODE at the top of the screenIt will then ask you to choose the network and password FOR YOUR HOME ROUTER. When you enter this, it will go to your available wifi network connections and you select Smartlife, RATHER than your home network to connect directly to the plug.Once connected, the app will pass the network details to the plug which allows it to get onto your network. The app will then disconnect from the plug, reconnect to your home network and run a discovery where it will now find the plug as both the plug and app are now on your home wifi. Simply edit its details to give it a name (Bedroom, Hallway, etc) and it's now ready to be connected to the Alex/Google apps.I hope I have made this clear. It looks complicated, but its actually very simple when using the app and takes a minute to do. It's just very badly explained in the app.”

If you're new to the joy of these, I'd highly recommend them!Pics: As you can see, it's a very clean and attractive design, and the plugs come nicely packaged. They're very easy to install and use! (Literally takes me seconds now that I have some already, but it was still very simple and quick the first time.)Video: I set it to come on via the timer function on the related app, but you can also switch it on manually via the app (whether you're at home or not). This can be very handy for appliances like lights, especially if you're away for a few days and would like to deter intruders... (Or if you just can't quite bring yourself to get off the sofa when it gets dark...!)The video also shows the plug fit around the socket, which is great - this updated design version allows you to turn off the switch at the wall, should you want to!And you can see at the end I could easily turn off the smart plug itself whilst leaving the socket switched on, which will allow me to turn the smart plug on still via the app or by timer.What I use this for:I'm up to about 10 of these...! Currently using for a fan (as in the video), plug-in air fresheners, lamps, kettle and hair styling appliances. (The latter is perhaps a useful example of how these smart plugs could help assuage anxiety, for anyone who regularly worries that they've left the hair straighteners / iron / electric oven / anything else hazardous switched on...!)Summary:Would absolutely recommend getting some of these, and have already done so with friends...! They're a game changer.

The plug works perfectly with Alexa, installation of them is easy (fortunately), had I followed the instruction to the letter, I would not be able to install at all. All the screen shots, where to press what button etc etc are completely out of date. The screens of Smart Life remained more or less correct but the Alexa app must have changed a lot since they wrote the instruction. What they should have done is to have an on line instruction where they can update constantly to reflect the latest version of the Alexa app.
