Great For Storing Leather
I have some leather clothing. The problem is that over time while stored, if not careful, any moisture in the air can bring light dusty mold or mildew. These packets come in handy.WHAT ARE THESE LIKE?There bags come in an air proof resealable bag. You cut the top off, and there is a zip closure to keep it shut. The packets (3 of them) come in approx 3 inch squares.WHAT DO I USE THEM FOR?After cleaning off my leather, I put the leather in a plastic zipper bag and include the packets to keep them while in storage until they are ready to wear.DO THEY WORK?Yes, these work well. I use them often in this case and these are the type I use.HOW TO RECHARGE?To recharge these, put in the oven at 275F and heat on a tray for about 2 or 3 hours depending on how damp they are. Once cool, put them in an airtight container until ready to use.THE BOTTOM LINEThese silica packets are great for packing leather or other items that you need to protect from moisture. They can be recharged.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. These are just like all of the ones I use and if you are careful with them, they won't get holes in them and can last a while.UPDATESI will add any updates in the future if I have anything in my experiences long term to add.

Works
I'd give them 5 stars but they didn't come with instructions on how to renew them, so I assume the hope is that a lot of people will just toss them out and buy more once they stop working. This is a waste of money since all you need to do is toss them in a toaster oven on 150° for 10-15 minutes. Keep an eye on them and be very careful not to use too high of a heat, as the case could burn.

Works as expected
The SiliPacks silica gel packets seem to do what they are supposed to do and are larger than I expected. My husband brews beer, and he keeps one taped to the lid of his grain bins and switches it after each brew day to help keep the grains fresh. He also keeps another pack in the hops that are stored in the freezer.

Great to preserve leather items and keep the mold away
Why Silica packs?Because it absorbs moisture and helps prevent the mold. It is also great to keep around the leather items. We live on Caribbean and humidity is horrible, nothing can last unless you take care of humidity. I have under the bed shoe storage and I placed one of these packs in there, I wanted to tuck the other two in my leather sofa but I realized my toddler could find it and that’s a bad thing so I decided to place the other two into my leather Patricia Nash purses. We use damp rid bags but those fill with water quickly and have to be thrown away. These packs are quite large and sufficient for larger items, for the size reference one will cover my entire palm. Please note, thhe bag itself is sturdy and thick and I have no concerns of the bag puncturing though but around the small kids it is always better safe then sorry.
