Sure has made my life easier!
This hub has helped me tremendously! I use a very old laptop at work, which only has two USB ports. One USB port is used by the IT group for something important (Our network? The monitors? Printer? Obviously I am not a techie!) and the other USB port was for the wireless keyboard and mouse. The problem was every time a client would provide me information on a jump drive, I had to lose the keyboard and mouse in order to free the 2nd USB port. I was able to use the trackpad on the laptop, but it was not only cumbersome, it would only allow me to see half of my dual monitor setup, so I had to go into the settings and change it to a single monitor view. After I copied the client's data, I had to change everything back again, then switch again to re-copy the information to give back to the client..... Anyway, it was a very tiresome process. I finally got fed up and checked on Amazon for an inexpensive solution. I selected this hub due to the reviews, the price, the number of ports, the fact that it handles USB 3.0, and the light weight/size. I also thought it looked pretty high tech (although I suppose anything looks high tech next to my dinosaur of a computer!).It arrived very quickly and was well packaged. There was a clear plastic film sheet covering the flat section so there were no scratches, fingerprints, etc. I was concerned I would have problems installing it on such an old computer, but I literally just had to plug it in (to the USB port - no electricity needed) and it did the rest for me. I now use it at all times for the keyboard and mouse and have occasionally had all 4 ports in use with no problems, glitches or slowdowns. Literally turn one USB port into 4 just by plugging it in - it could not be simpler. Everybody else in my office now wants one! I highly recommend this hub if you have a shortage of USB ports!

Comparing Two HooToo Hubs...
I bought this USB 3.0 HUB, HooToo 4 Port Bus-Powered Hub 1 Feet Cable Suppport PC Mac High Performance Interface For Personal Business Gaming Black and also USB 3.0 HUB, HooToo 4 Ports 5V/2A Power Adapter 3.3 feet USB Data Cable Latest VIA VL812-B2 Chipset Support Windows Mac Linux OS Aluminum Black .While the USB 3.0 HUB, HooToo 4 Port Bus-Powered Hub 1 Feet Cable Suppport PC Mac High Performance Interface For Personal Business Gaming Black is a very good product for using USB attached devices, it does not support separate charging. Therefore, I cannot use it for all the purposes I expected. Still, this one proved to be a very fast and powerful USB hub although, even with its lighted ports, you can not determine which device is in use or stopped.I actually like the USB 3.0 HUB, HooToo 4 Port Bus-Powered Hub 1 Feet Cable Suppport PC Mac High Performance Interface For Personal Business Gaming Black better because it performs nearly as well as the USB 3.0 HUB, HooToo 4 Ports 5V/2A Power Adapter 3.3 feet USB Data Cable Latest VIA VL812-B2 Chipset Support Windows Mac Linux OS Aluminum Black and is more easily portable. It does not have lighted ports but it still works perfectly with each port operating independently to one another. Plus, I can use it as a separate USB charger. This one has a shorter cable and is all plastic but is worth the lower cost.Overall, either of these USB hubs are a good choice. I just prefer easier portability and separate charging capabilities.

crappy!!
Not what I ordered or expected, ask for male/female head adapter for my tablet, this thing won't charge completely if one or more devices are connected. It drains the second and third device attached to it, only can charge one and connect one device at a tip in hot spots..crappy !!!😦😨😰😤

It's a hub with a cheap cord
It's a hub. Bought two of these (UH013) for traveling, one for a laptop and one for a tablet. Compact size and light weight is nice, but loses points for the cheap cord. The cord is far, far too stiff. So much so that the hub won't lay flat on a surface unless the USB port is also parallel with the surface. That's kind of ok with a laptop, not so much with a tablet. With the tablet the hub just dangles in the air when on the kickstand.

I have three of these. One quit working, it links to the computer but doesn't read what I plug in to any of the 4 ports. the other two work fine. It's too late for me to get a refund from amazon. I'll just write the one off. It didn't cost a lot anyway.

Works well with Bluetooth, mouse adapter, and thumb drive connected. Works out of the box with Windows 10.Cable seems to be well made and sturdy.I am trying to heed the warnings about kinking the wire. It is very stiff (not flimsy), which is a good thing. I think the only improvement I would have liked to see is a slightly longer cable to compensate for the restricted range of motion.I put a little Velcro on the back of the unit and then to the side of my laptop screen to hold it in place. Makes it a little more portable while in use and prevents the cable from getting kinked by normal laptop use.

but I like that idea
WELL, the shape is odd, but allows for big usb. Also it supposively has a surge protector built into it. There is no one to know this, but I like that idea. It is good for usb ports in the back of the computer, it makes it easier to access. It is good for computers with only 1 3.0 port, giving you 3 more ports at 3.0. Plus it doesn't wear down your ports on the computer. If there's a problem, you can simply replace this hooToo, rather than your computer. Maybe a bit longer cord (like 4 inches longer) would have been nice, b/c my 3.0 port is in the back of the computer, and I have my computer on a raised stand for heat dissapation. So the hootoo hangs. But it is easier than trying to access the back of the computer.
