Works, but causes noise on the fan motor in middle speeds.
Product works but causes noise on the ceiling fan motor in the middle speed ranges. When the fan is on high it works great, but as you slow it down it begins a whine on the motor, and then goes back to normal just as you get the slowest settings. If I reconnect the manual fan speed switch there is no fan motor noise when running at high, medium, or low.Installation is straight forward. I don't like the fact that is is no ground wire. My issue was I have a 2-gang wall box. so to make it look acceptable i had to get an adapter that converted it to a centered single gang mount. in the photo you can see the plate. If you need one, just do a search for:Panduit MIWBAWH 2-Gang In-Wall Box Adapter.Update - 20190928 - I tried the switch on a different ceiling fan in the house and was getting the same noise on the fan motor. So I ordered a replacement to see if it was just a bad switch. The replacement has the same issue. Started doing some research by searching the term noise on other reviews and it seems to be a semi-common issue. Decided I can't live with that so I returned them both and have gone to a regular smart switch and just have the fan run at a single speed. Not sure if having a ceiling fan with a DC motor would be any different (both of mine are AC motors). I know the switch was more for the Australian market rather than the US. Maybe differences in 50 vs 60 Hz. I remember Sonoff switches having issues with some fans in the US where the fan doesn't spin at the right speeds unless you replace the capacitors in the fan with different rated ones. But a bunch of troubleshooting won't be worth my time. I'll just have to spend a little more to get what i need.I was really hoping it would work.

RTFM and make it BIGGER and you will be fine ( the third time )
Everything works, but you need to pay attention to the "Little" details. I struggled to reset the device holding down the button for 20 seconds. Only to find out once I decided to start over read every work and make the instructions larger that the button you press was not the one I was pressing. When installing I quickly thought since I was setting up the light, I'd press the light button for 20 seconds. Later I looked again and the very small fan Icon was the one in the instructions. I remembered when I first installed it, the Medium light was blinking and so I thought that's the one I press. but still it was not working to reset. I finally re-read the instructions again only to discover that the button they were referring to again by a picture that is so very tiny is the fan button with the "L" in the middle. Again everything is correct in the instructions, I have installed many many smart devices and rarely have to read directions but this time, because of my not paying attention to the details and the tiny icons in the instructions did I struggle. Normally the setup is intuitive but I guess not since I got it wrong twice. It is a very nice looking switch. I loved the way the wires went easily into the switch and were secured. I also made the mistake of installing it upside down and had to unscrew it again and flip it around. I guess it just was not my day. Its working fine. Alexa connection was easy If I had to make suggestions, make a point in the instructions to highlight and write in bigger words "THE RESET BUTTON IS THE FAN BUTTON WITH THE "L" in the MIDDLE"

Works as Described
I am very happy with this switch, we used it for the fan in our family room. It was easy to install, easy to set up in the app and works as designed. The only issue I have with the switch is that it comes as a glass plate and can only be used on 1-gang boxes in the walls. I have several ceiling fans in my house that are controlled by a switch with a 2 or 3 gang box and so we are not able to use these. I would have loved to use this on all of the fans.

It's just okay. Might be defective. Would still give it 2.5 stars.
I bought this because it checked a lot of boxes for what I needed. I had an old analog Leviton single gang light and fan switch that I wanted to upgrade. The new switch came in a small plain cardboard box that was easy to open and packaged pretty well. Installation was easy enough, but I did photograph the old switch's wiring and looked up it's datasheet so I knew what the wires were for. That came in handy because you really only get the icons on the new switch to figure out how to wire it. It's very straight forward, which is good because the included micro-print documentation isn't especially thorough. When I returned power to the breaker and came back to check on it, all the lights were on and it was ready for the app. Light and fan buttons worked at that point as a dumb switch, so you can stop there if you don't want to control it from the app. I opted to continue setup, but didn't install the Smart Life app. Since Smart Life is a Tuya app anyway, I just installed TuyaSmart instead. It found the switch and added it in a few seconds, once I got my account set up. The app provides the same functionality as the touch sensitive buttons, but you can create schedules and work it remotely. So far, it does everything I needed it to. So why just 3 stars? Well, like another customer reported, my unit has no discernible change in fan speed, no matter which option I select. The only real change is which LED on the switch turns red. Now, since the L, M, and H buttons all seem to be high, I don't get the hum other users report at the medium setting, so yay. The old analog switch was able to control the fan speed just fine. If I really want to change it, the pull switch on the fan accomplishes the same thing. The switch also requires an internet connection to operate remotely, and as far as I can tell, offers 0 integration into other smart platforms. If your ISP loses connection for some reason, it becomes a dumb switch again. I would have liked to control it using Home Assistant locally, but that will have to wait. HA does have a Tuya integration, still requiring the internet connection, sadly, but this particular device is not yet compatible. Online research indicates that the wait is on Tuya for that functionality. So be it. I could probably use Smart Life and IFTTT to set something up for automation, but I'll just wait. For now, setting schedules in the TuyaSmart app is enough. 3 stars may have been a little generous, given the unit's inability to control the fan speed, but it does look good, and the hardware was easy to install and slim enough that getting it to fit into the gang box with the wires wasn't a challenge. I could probably order another one to see if I have better luck, but frankly I don't want to wait another week for shipping. Eventually the device will get incorporated into Home Assistant, and at that point it will be a solid 3. With that and if the fan speeds worked, it'd be a 5 star product.
