It’s very competent NV and as a NV camera unmatched

After using this camera for a few days, I have to say, there is nothing I've seen that's anything like it. I got this to basically see/record what's going on in the woods and trails where I hike a lot at night. I always hear the animals but never see them. Now the porcupines can't hide! I was planning on recording my kid mountainbiking the other night but it already dumped snow here so that's going to have to wait a few days. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what some of the mountain bike video guys do with these things since their existing cameras don't work at night.This takes amazing video you just can't get with anything else that I've come across. Where a gopro is useless, this thing records like it's daylight - even in color. It's crazy. It also has twilight mode which I've only touched on as that lasts like 10 minutes in New England this time of year. I'm sure in the summer it will be cool to try that mode a bit more.When I first got it I was a little disappointed with the image quality but after reading the manual and playing with it a bit I'm much more happy. It's not like a 'normal' camera as there are minor/quick things you have to do to adjust for the available light. I suppose it's like adjusting for focus and flash but called 'gain'. I'm not a photographer if you can't tell.... You just have to realize that there are a few concepts that aren't the same as in daylight photography/video.I was a little concerned about the battery but then saw you can get some cheap ones on amazon so I'm going to pick a few up. They are NP-50s. I got a 32gb card at Walmart to use with it. The eyepiece just pops out and card goes right in, takes about a second.Installed the app from the play store (Samsung S7) and it seemed pretty good. App seems to have a lot of features I haven't explored yet. The 'Live View' seems like it might be fun to check out a bit more.Ended up writing more than I planned... anyway, remember this: it's COLOR nightvison. There's nothing like it. The image quailty is way beyond what I was expecting and it's even in video!

These are very nice cameras with many features for the money. A friend of mine introduced them to me and I was impressed enough to purchase one for myself. I really only have two complaints. There is no timestamp or gps overlay options and I haven't found a free program that let's me reprocess the footage with the metadata overlaid.
