UAS Pilot Log Expanded Edition: Unmanned Aircraft Systems Logbook for Drone Pilots & Operators

Needed this with all the bad publicity that the quad copter gets (really all remote control planes are drones because they are unmanned, for that matter rc boats and cars are probably classified as that too). It will just help us rc pilots to protect ourselves from complaints.

This item has a checklist that will keep you focused on how to fly safe and keep your drone in flying condition. It also will keep a record of flights and increase experience along the way. Document back episode as it happens.

I started keeping a log after I became part 107 licenced , this log book has just about everything I need and what it doesn't have there is plenty of space to write notes in.

This is a really unique and reasonably priced log book just for drone pilots. It is clear that the author really rethought the whole drone pilot vs. airplane pilot conundrum. One of the main things I notice is that each day gets a whole page to itself. This is great because I fly multiple flights in a day and at less than 30 minutes a pop, logging can be tedious. The traditional manned flight logbooks are basically just spreadsheets. Sometimes I think this is because if something really crazy happens during a manned flight, it's really bad. Whereas, with a drone, accidents happen all the time and you want to make notes and learn from them. This book gives you the space to make those notes and learn more from your flights and develop as a UAV pilot.

I got the two UAS books together and thought how I might use them both. This expanded Pilot Log enable the user to build on the first book. I am a new drone pilot and although the app that I use with the drone records much of what I am writing down, it forces me into good practice. If anyone is requiring an unmanned aircrafts' pilots licence then they will need to have this information recorded somewhere and this is purpose built for it.As my skills at flying the drone develop, then I will need to write down much more detail and this book will encourage me to do that.

Although I'm a newbie with drones, I wanted to approach the subject in a professional and logical manner from the start, therefore I ordered this book. Page 3 "Logbook Onwer Information" in bold can not unsee letters!Now the publication feels amateurish and was not proof-read.From a new fliers perspective I also found that drone flight times tend to be in minutes in the real world ( my longest flight was 19 mins ) however in log the session time total is in hours, how do I enter a session of say 2 x 19 mins?

I was surprised that there was no view of the inside pages on the details for this item. I ordered one anyway and unfortunately had I seen the contents before I would not have done.I have been flying drones for a few years for video and photography and have kept detailed records in a spreadsheet. I was hoping this book might be a good way to transfer the records and keep new flight details. The presentation however is not really suitable as it seems to assume that you will carry out up to 10 flights in a day all from the same location. There is a pre-flight check list on each page which is a bit superfluous. I carry a check list with me but would not be carrying the log book. All flight details are logged in the drone and downloaded later in much greater detail than this little booklet would allow for. I am not sure who this log is aimed at. It would not really be suitable for a professional or an experienced hobbyist in my option. If you are flying a drone that has no flight logging facility this might be of some use.

A simple to use and understand book on managing operations on drone flight. It forces you to think about what you're doing, pre-flight checks, operational issues, notes on locations or concerns and a space to add a flight map. It encourages the user to think about what is happening during the flight and to record it for future reference and development.A good starting point for the novice pilot.
