SKTools USA 1/4" Drive Professional Reversible Ratchet, 6.5" Long, 40971

SK makes some of the best tools, at a reasonable price, and still made in USA. I have several SK hand tools and wratchets. I've never had a single issue with their tools over the last 20 years. Will continue to buy SK tools to expand my toolchest.

The extra length compared to most other 1/4" drive ratchets is really nice. The mechanism is fine and very smooth, as good or better than anything I've felt (including snap on). This is the gem of SK's ratchet lineup. I use it daily and couldn't recommend a tool more highly. The shorter SK 1/4" ratchet is nice for certain jobs but it can be frustrating after getting used to the leverage provided by this longer version. For smaller fasteners (7/16 or 12mm and smaller) this is my go-to. If you wrench professionally this is easily worth the money. For a home mechanic that uses their tools sparingly it might not make sense to spend this much money on a 1/4" drive ratchet since strength isn't as critical as with a 3/8 drive (spend the $$ on a better 3/8 drive if anything).

I've used S-K products since the early 70s when my father made a gift of some tools to me. I've since added over time more S-K products, and I'm very pleased with this 1/4" rachet. The quality that I appreciate is the tight fit of the socket to the rachet. They fit snuggly so that there is less chance of slippage with using it. I am a home owner, not a mechanic or a craftsman; I use these tools on home projects and small auto items. I anticipate that I will be handing these tools down to my son; they are that well made. And since I use them lightly, they will last indefinitely.I have wanted this product for a long time, and the price for this item was better than I had seen for a long time. I took advantage of it while it was available. These tools are expensive, but it's hard to do a job well with inferior tools.

I buy this tools just to try it and I will say that there is room for improvement in the design.1. The retaining ring will catch you latex glove if you’re wearing any.2. The directional system in the back make it harder to put some light pressure whenever you need it.3. Also the gear system could be a lot better.But I will try it again as soon as a see some changes..I forgot I am a aircraft tech so I use tools every day....

A U.S. made product, SK has been around for many years. This ratchet is a perfect example of why SK has been in the game this long! The ratcheting is very smooth. Turns beautifully. There's no jamming or slip ups. The Knurled handle makes for solid grip.This is a great step up from many store brand tools since most(if not all)are being out-sourced. If you want a great American tool with out paying Mac/Matco/Snap On prices, SK is a GREAT alternative. Very pleased with this 1/4 ratchet & would highly recommend this.

Got it for my kit for better leverage. SK tools are nice American made tools.

Excellent 1/4' drive ratchet with the long 6 1/2" handle. I had the 4" 1/4 drive ratchet for 20 years and it got so much use that the gears finally wore out and a replacement was needed. SK makes a good quality tool for the price. I would purchase this again.

Made in USA. I use this tool a lot since there are a lot of small bolts under the hood of a car. You risk over-torque when using a larger size ratchet to tighten these small bolts. The small size of the tool gives you better "feel" when tightening up. A plus is the SK quality and you can feel it when using it.
