Resolved my intermittent blower problem
As others have stated, this resolved the intermittent HVAC blower fan issue in my 2001 SLK230. Branded as Mahle Behr, with a Hella part number as well, it has some decent credibility, as all of those brands have been around a while. The best price I found for a factory MB part was $271 + shipping, so trying this one was an easy choice. If it fails I'll be back to complain. ;-)These are easy to replace. All you need is a #2 Philips screwdriver and a T-20 (I think) Torx driver. Make sure the passenger seat is slid back as far as it will go.Remove the lower cover under the dash in the passenger's footwell by removing the two Philips screws at the front corners of the panel (rear of the car, but front to you as you're looking at it). The rear of the panel is held in place by tabs that slide into loops under the dash, so be careful not to break them when wriggling the panel free. It helps to pull the top edge of the carpet rearward to clear the lip on the rear of the cover panel. This part is mounted inside the blower housing which is right of center under the dash. There is a 3 pin connector that goes through this cover & feeds power to this unit. Pull straight down to remove. There are two small white clips on the front of the housing that hold the cover in place. Slide those clips toward one another until they stop, at which point the cover can be levered downward and slipped from its pivot in the rear.Once the cover is out of the way you'll see this part, held in place by 2 Torx screws at its corners (refer to the new part if you don't see them immediately). Remove the connectors from the fan motor itself (they're different, so it's easy to know which is which). Remove the 2 Torx screws & the regulator will fall free. Installation is a little tougher, as it's not easy to get the screws lined up in such a way that they will go into the existing threads & not strip out. These screws go into plastic, so take your time! And don't over-tighten the screws!I had to use the original red wire because the one provided was too short. The blue wire is pretty long, so be careful to route it around the perimeter of the blower housing so it doesn't get caught up in the fan blades, or use the one from the factory regulator.Replace the blower housing cover by slipping its pivot into the slot on the back of the housing (front of the car), swing it up into place & slide the little white clips outward until they stop.DON'T FORGET TO PLUG THE HARNESS BACK INTO THE REGULATOR! I nearly did, but caught myself before replacing the lower dash cover. The lower dash cover does take a bit of fiddling to get it back into place just as it should be. Again, take your time and make sure the rear tabs are hooked before reinstalling the screws. Again, don't over-tighten.Pro tip: the cabin air filter is located just to the left of the blower housing & is easy to replace with the cover off, so if it hasn't been done in a while order a filter along with the regulator & do them both at the same time. There are plenty of web tutorials on that task so I'll stop here.Hope this helps someone save a few $$ and enjoy their MB having a functioning climate control system.

It works!
After purchasing several cheaper regulators that failed within minutes of use, I purchased this Behr Hella. It has been running fine for several months now.

Fixed my problem
Worked. Fixed my SLK 230 heater blower problem. Problem: intermittent no fan. Fan came on and off when ever it feeled like it. Since blower worked well when it did, I figured this resistor was the problem. After taking parts off too get to the blower resistor, leaves impacted the filter and housing. Cleaned out and replaced the resistor. Works perfectly now. Car: SLK 230 2000.

Great prices and worked as the old part.
Instead of shopping at car dealers for the part i found it using the model number and had it delivered to my home in 3 days. Worked like the old one i took out.

Worth it!
This is the right stuff, worth paying more for, without the not-so-regulated issues cheap aftermarket regulators can have. However, you should know that the oem regulator usually fails for an external reason. Any new regulator will just fail again sooner or later if your motor is tired and has electrical hiccups from worn brushes, water intrusion, corrosion, etc. or if your bearings are dry or shot and dragging on your hamster wheel.
