Strongheart: The World's First Movie Star Dog Hardcover – November 11, 2014

I read this book in the library and was so very impressed with it, I bought a copy and had it sent to my sister. She read it and loved it so much she intends to pass it along to others. She owns a German Shepherd and is part of a group of German Shepherd owners who have trained their dogs for search and rescue operations. She never knew this story and it opened up a whole new world for her, and a whole newfound love of German Shepherds. We both sought out films this dog made after reading this book. I suppose I should mention that neither my sister nor I are youngsters: we're both in our 60's with college degrees. Yet, we could enjoy this book and learn something from it instantly.

I read J. Allen Boone's book Kinship With All Life and really enjoyed it. When I saw there was a children's book about the dog Strongheart I had to order it for my grandchildren. Wonderful story about a very wise teacher who happened to be a dog.

So happy someone updated the story about this wonder dog! Excellent book! for ALL dog enthusiasts.

Came in damp worped ! Not what i was expecting

I didn't know this was a children's book when I ordered it but it was so good! I actually learned things I didn't know about Strongheart and wish I could've read this back in the day. Most enjoyable.

wonderful pictures in the style of old movies.

Mankind's love affair with dogs has been around for a long time. Our love affair with the movies hasn't been around as long, but it's just as strong, the two were bound to meet sooner or later. Strongheart is the fictionalized story of the dog that brought the two together. Trained as a police dog, Strongheart didn't know how to play when Larry Trimble adopted him. This is an interesting story about the intelligence and heart that dogs can offer. A fun book that is bound to be enjoyed by dog and movie lovers.
