Works fine
This SSD is applied with iMacs year 2007, 2009, 2010, as external or internal. It's power is more than the older iMacs can use. However it's power does greatly speed computer startup, shutdown, and running of programs; even if external through USB2.0.

Adata SSD is great replacement for existing magnetic hard drives. Have 2 now.
This SSD has worked well for me (have 2 of them). I am not sure it is the fastest architecture of the various SSD's available, but the improvement in performance from the replaced HD is impressive. (see ssd reviews for details on architecture). I believe the differences in performance between current generation SSD's to be very small compared to the increase in performance over OEM hard drives.Adonis cloning SW would not work on one of my notebooks (older Toshiba dog with AMD CPU), and so I needed to buy other cloning SW. Was finally able to get it running. Adonis problem was unfortunate, as the Adonis cloning SW is really easy to use, compared to others. (My problem was that it would not run at all on the old Toshiba Windows 8 machine, not that it gave problems in operation). Other SW is usually more difficult to use, needing to get into details of partitions, etc. When using smaller SSD than existing HD, difficulties arise. Adonis handled this easily on my other Windows 10 i7 machine.I would have no hesitation at all ordering more of these SSD's, as they work well and are low price. Original worries about low price meaning problems were unfounded.

Excellent Value ADATA!!! WOW!!
Pros:- Ridiculously Fast SSD!! Rated Speeds are TRUE!!- ADATA Reliability with a 3yr Warranty- SSD Toolbox & Migration software available too- Decent build quality, doesn't feel like it would break if you sat on it.Cons:- None so far. Worked great right out of the box! Conclusion: There are a tone of inexpensive good SSD solutions these days. It's a great time to need to upgrade that old PC or Laptop. Speeds were also exactly as advertised which is great to see at a 39.99 price point. I included a screen shot of 4 different SSD benchmarking tools which all seem to confirm the SP550's rating.Crystal Disk Mark - 557.0 Read / 456.9 WriteSamsung Magician - 559 Read / 463 Write (faster than my 250GB Evo @ 405 / 423)AS SSD - 501.23 Read / 464.87 WriteATTO - 558 Read / 475 WriteOne last thing. We placed this in an HP G72 w/ Intel Pentium 2.3Ghz & 3GB DDR2 Ram originally running Windows 7 64 Bit. My client was on a tight budget so it was a choice between SSD or Ram. And considering it had years of cruft accumulated and a few viruses to boot a clean install was going to be needed anyway. So SSD it was. Boot time improved by half!! Went from 1 minute 4 seconds to just 27 seconds after the upgrade. And that's with all updates and programs reinstalled! Client loves it. We'll hunt down more ram later. But for now... going SSD was the biggest bang for the buck. Get some!!

Cheap and fast upgrade if coming from a HDD.
**Read full review for information as to why drive speed is slower than other screenshots***Bought the 120gb version. I've installed SSD's on customer PC's and laptops before (PNY, Crucial, Kingston, Sandisk) all using sata 3 connections. The casing for this SSD seems flimsy as another has stated - but the performance is rock solid. For the price of this drive and the comparison to both Kingston and Sandisk at around the same price point, you can not go wrong with this drive at any capacity. Attached is my screenshot of CrystalDiskMark 64bit.**You'll notice that it's half of that of others who have posted CDM screenshots. This is contributed by the use of a sata 2 controller which is incapable of using this drive to it's full potential.**Keep in mind that if you plan on using this in an older computer as I did, it will likely be Sata2 (3mbps) instead of Sata3 (6mbps) (2007-2008 and older) and be a tad slower - but definitely faster than any clunky spinner.Deducted 1 star for lack of included software as some other manufactures offer for ease of use. If you're looking for an "Out of the box transfer experience" be aware that the Acronis software is only available on their website and you'll have to download and make your own media if you wish to copy your current (and only) system to the new SSD. This definitely isn't a deal breaker, just inconvenient for some.Firmware updates exist through the SSD Toolbox provided on the manufactures website. These could be vital for running on newer operating systems or for all around performance on them. I'd suggest downloading this program indefinitely as it does list the health status of your drive, TRIM options and other operating system optimizations. My conclusion: This is definitely an entry level drive. If you're looking for top quality, top nands, uber support, turbo boost and for it to pour your wine, this drive is not for you. If you're looking to upgrade from a spinning disk to what most would consider 'The new standard' by all means, this drive is for you.
