Q: would this be good for a 4 year old?

For now, why not let the child play with a Yamaha Alto Recorder for about $30? Then when old enough for school band class, the child might or might not be interested in playing the recorder or any other instrument. I played trumpet from 11 years old until 21 years old. I'm 79 now and have the Yamaha Alto Recorder that I mess around occasionally. Will soon take Recorder lessons from the I'net. Also, I have no need for a trumpet and have no idea why I'm looking at them! Nostalgia?
