Chronology - The Epic Hit Singles

Approaching my 60s and truly enjoying probably too much of 'oldies' going all the way back to the 50s doo-wop era, I seek out 'new' music I may have missed through the years. The only song by Shakin' Stevens that I was familiar with was "A Rockin' Good Way (To Mess Around and Fall in Love", the duet with Bonnie Tyler. His voice was similar to that of Rocky Burnette on "Tired of Toein' the Line" but Burnette's other music offerings were nothing like what was truly a one-hit wonder; sound clips on Amazon of his other music is appalling. Not inclined to order something willy-nilly, and since there were no song samplings on Amazon, I went to CD Universe and listened to clips from one of Shakin' Stevens' other collected works CDs.This CD blew me out! His music is similar to that of Marshall Crenshaw, from the same the same period, early to mid-80s. But Shakin' Stevens was a REAL ROCKER. He was a chart-topper throughout the whole 80's in the UK, Australia, and most of Europe/Scandinavia. Never caught on in the States.The music is consuming, energetic. His voice is expressive, engaging. He makes you wanna not only tap your feet, but clap your hands and bop around the room!!! Song after song!!! You, too, will be a-swayin' and a-SHAKIN'.... and a-singin' along.I can honestly say that my favorite song on this CD is the one that is currently playing!!!

What an awesome CD, lordy, can this man sing and this 2 CD set has every track I love and more and the price was so low, an added surprise by Amazon, but they always have great deals. I give this THUMBS UP, you cannot go wrong, and if you love Shaky, this is the CD to get. Can't get much better than this, and what surprises me most, I am a die hard doo wop fan, yet this man, well, he just has it all. Go for it

I really enjoy his music, he has a lot of really fun songs. This 2 CD collection has a lot of really good songs, great voice, good music. I'm very happy with it.

WOW - If you like the sound of the 50's, this is a great CD. I can't get enough of it. I've been playing it over and over since it arrived.

I know is music around 1981 to 1984, exsactly three songs i know about Shakin Stevens.THIS OLE HOUSEYOU DRIVE ME CRAZYGREEN DOORThis copilation is nice, because i only three, but the others songs are nice.

He is the greatest entertainer I have ever heard. This Cd is wonderful. The songs are so good. Packaged well and arrived promptly. Highly recommend this one.

Great collection of the Epic label collection of Shakin Stevens' hit singles --- very good quality sound with rockabilly fans' type of original rockabilly recordings done by one of the best rockabilly revivalists.
