912 Windmill Project Plan

I built the light house first. Easy to build following instruction. Looks great

The U-Bild literature said that it provides templates that you simply trace and cut out and put together. Templates are provided but instructions are limited and the "blueprints" are not easy to figure out. The project plan is directed toward the beginner woodworker but this plan is NOT a good approach for the novice woodworker.

I am a novice at wood working and I found this to be quite a challenge as it is nowhere near as simple as the package would lead one to believe. The compound mitre cuts alone take this beyond the beginner stage. Even the rounded end of a rectangular board takes decent Yankee ingenuity. I find the plans to be fairly clear, but again, to succeed with this plan you’ll need some experience and patience.

Great buy

The sides of the windmill require compound miter cuts that are not clearly indicated on the plans. I had to make a jig to hold the stock for the sides and, also, to properly space the parts of the blades. This would not be an easy project for a novice woodworker. The bearings shouild be epoxied in to keep them from coming out. Once completed it is a nice project.
