Perfect for tamales
I purchased this to steam tamales which, if you make, know they need to be made in large batches. I have also used it to boil insane amounts of pasta and make mexican family sized soups. It is very thin on the bottom so if you don't have experience using this type of pot you could burn stuff really easy but it is absolutely perfect for me and my needs. It was a great price and arrived super quickly.

Great value pot, used for bottling/canning
I bought this, and a canning kit as an experiment. Both have been used twice and I have no complaints. Don't expect to get the double bottom with aluminium puck that you'd get with say 'STELLAR' pans, I didn't have the extra £200 to play with. This is a simple pan, with a great fitting lid and handle. It's single skinned and made of a quality stainless steel. It works, what more could I ask?

The metal is very thin at the base, but the pan is much cheaper then others.
Due to the thin base there is a high risk of getting hot spots and hence the food burning. For boiling a lot of water or making stock it will be great. If my batch cooked bolagnese (for the freezer) burns I will send back the pot but as my induction hob has an automatic simmer control I am not expecting problems provided I add the liquid first and brown the meat in a frying pan.

Actually 18L
Comparing the weight of the pot full minus the pot empty reveals that this pot is actually 18L. I confirmed it by measuring out water with a jug too.Very thin metal with sharp edges all over but construction is actually quite solid feeling.Covered with a strange grey coating that was removable with boiling water, soap and vigorous scrubbing.Lid fits very nicely.Oh well, it is very cheap and does the job
