VOX has an alarm... design flaw.
Update 9 months into use:We are really impressed with the battery life of this monitor! It lasts us all day without running out, through two naps, even with video on. Not having a normal VOX setting, as described below, has proven to be no big deal after all. I've gotten used to hearing the white noise come through. My 3 year old got his hands on it and broke one of the volume buttons, but otherwise it is still working perfectly well! Occasionally the camera disconnects from the monitor which is annoying, but it happens fairly infrequently that I don't really consider it a problem.Quite a good monitor with just one flaw I can find. I wish I could have it on the VOX setting without an alarm going off with sound. Let me explain:My 2.5 year old and 3 month old both use sound machines in their rooms with sleep. So I like the VOX setting cuz it'll filter out that background noise and turn off, and then come back on when they wake up and cry or say something. If that's all it did (which is what most monitors with a VOX setting do...) that would be great, but, for some reason this monitor has an alarm go off on the parent unit whenever the kid makes a sound loud enough to turn the monitor back on. Uggh. Thats the last thing I want in the middle of the night! I wish it would just turn back on and let the sound come through, who needs an alarm along with that??Other than that, the battery life seems to be great so far, though its only been used a few times, so I can't speak to its longevity.Overall, its good. I'll just leave all sound on and have the white noise come through the monitor.

So far I really like it!
I have had several different monitors. So far I have found that, oddly enough, the cheaper ones always seem to work better. I just got this, but so far I really like it. Switching between the two cameras is a breeze! It has great picture quality. Night vision is not near as grainy as I am used to and it has a lot of extra features! Another big plus is that the cords are long enough that you can mount the cameras with very little problem if you like!!The one this I don’t like is that if the motion detector or sound detector is on, it beeps this obnoxious alarm at you. The only way to turn off the alarm is to turn off the detection mode. I wish there was an option of having the detections work just by activating the picture without it beeping at me!UPDATE....After having this for several days now there are a couple of things that I do want to add to the review. First off I am very disappointed in the battery life for this. So far with it unplugged, I MAY get an hour or a little more before the battery runs dead. So that is very disappointing. Also, the volume on here is incredibly low. I have it turned up as high as it will go and it is still very hard to hear my little man through it. Even when he is wide awake and just playing in his bedroom talking normally, I have to pick up the monitor and hold it up to my ear.

Great during virtual school!
This was a great find for us. We are out of the baby stage, but our children are doing virtual school while we parents work from home (due to COVID-19 closures). Since we can't be right beside them as we all have our own virtual meetings, and they are in early elementary school, we use the cameras in their respective learning areas to make sure they are in their separate learning spaces, at their respective devices, looking attentive. One parent keeps the monitor/screen and if the parent notices anything unusual (extended bathroom break, leaving the computer at a time that is not the teachers' break time, one sibling in the other's learning area, etc.) we can listen in to the conversation or mute our own virtual meetings to talk to the kids through the cameras/microphones. This has already been helpful on one particular occasion when we were able to see that one child was having a technical difficulty and we spoke through the intercom to let them know that we would be able to help in a moment. This kept them from panicking and being worried about if it was important enough for them to quietly interrupt a parent for help.We usually keep the screen volume on mute, unless we feel we need to listen in or check in briefly between meetings. The intercom ability works well for us, as does the ability to use night vision. We moved one of the cameras to one child's bedroom so we could check on her, after she had surgery, without disturbing her sleep. We have chosen not to mount the cameras (though they are able to be mounted to a wall or other surface) as it makes it easier to move them room to room and put them on a shelf. I imagine the feeding timers and other features would be great for a new baby. I wish we would have had this when our children were infants and toddlers!

Ok for price but I wouldn’t recommend it
I waited a few months to write this review to give time. The most annoying issue is that for no reason at all, the cameras will lose signal in the middle of the night. They go from having a strong signal to all the sudden no signal which won’t come back unless I turn the switch off then on. . I have to sneak in my kids bedrooms and turn the cameras off and then back on at like 3 in the morning. This happens often! Also, I love and hate the Vox feature. At first , I loved it as I didn’t have to hear noise switch back and forth from camera to camera as it makes a loud clicking noise. It makes me nervous to turn on this feature now bc one night, I awoke to my baby screaming down the hall. The monitor did not pick up the sound at all on the Vox and I don’t know how long she was awake.. I don’t trust that feature now .Also the microphone on the cameras don’t work well at all. I have to yell into the monitor for my 4 year old to hear me .The only plus to this monitor is the fact that it’s better than the last one we had which was the Optix Zoom That cost like $350 . This one is much cheaper .
