Have one in Reserve
No matter how well or with whatever different lubricant I lubricate my garage door screw drive, the carriages don’t seem to last. Nice to buy them in pairs for a reasonable price considering that it seems the carriage inevitably fails at the most inopportune time.

Good fit but need coercion
These are an inexpensive alternative to the OEM version, which lasted for 26 years before failing. Evidently, these fail often enough across all America that there are more than a few aftermarket manufacturers selling these replacement carriages on Amazon. These were easy to install, but the teeth did not mesh easily when I tried to engage them into the screw drive. Ultimately, I had to hammer them into place after trying to use the lever failed first and then trying to push them with my palm also failed. Once in place, they seem to work perfectly. I decided not to try and disengage them for fear that I wouldn’t be able to engage them again. I think I will let the teeth wear into place for a while before I experiment with using the disengagement pull cord for fear of having to hammer them back in again, which does appeal to me. I don’t recall having to use a hammer when I installed the original carriages 26 years ago.The key features that makes these favorable is that they fit well and are quite inexpensive, so worthy of a four star review for those reasons alone.

Ease of installation
Would be nice to have a way to grease track gear without having to remove the unit.

Exact replacement
The replacement carriage went on easily and was a perfect fit. No adjustment was necessary. Included instructions were brief, but covered everything. The garage door is opening smoothly and quietly. The original carriage wore out after 15 years. This is my first replacement of the carriage.
