FALSE ADVERTISEMENT - THIS THING RUSTS
After only a few days of trying to sprout peas, it started rusting. What a lie.

Good product that does what it says!
Why on earth would Amazon want me to rate this on flavor and warmth? This sprouter lid allows the use of any wide mouth jar to make spouts. I have used it for mung bean sprouts (as they seem to be hard to find in store nowadays).Works very well, keeps seeds and sprouts in allowing water out. I place in small bowl such that it sits at about 45 degrees.

Quality Item
I bought these for 1/2 gallon wide mouth canning jars. They are a high quality product. The only complaint I have is they can be a little difficult to get started onto the jars. Other than that I would recommend this item. I prefer them over the plastic type since plastic is seen as a not necessarily safe food contact item.

Fit and work perfectly
Makes rinsing and draining sprout seeds easy. Seeds and sprouts don't stick to screen. After a few weeks have seen no trace of corrosion. Note that these fit the large mouth Ball canning jars. I like the biggest jars with flattened sides where I can spread seed out and grow to small micro green stage.

They work, and no rust!
I mistakenly put up a review that these rust. They were NOT rusted, but rather stained due to sprouting dark colored beans and lentils. With a little scrubbing, they were shinny as new. I would have given 5 stars, but the rings don't secuely fit on all mason jar threads and I had to use a different ring.

Perfect
I used to live in a place where sprouts could be bought at most grocery store. I move. Now I can't find them at all. These lids and screen are perfect. Now I can have sprouts when ever I want.Sprouts for my salads, sprout for my salad. Chect it out, it's worth the time and investment,

Makes great sprouts!
I just had a salad with some of the methi sprouts I made with this lid. I have some mustard seeds soaking in water and they will be the next test. Actually, not a test, I know they will pass. Dishwasher safe, solid fit, what more could you ask?? It's a great deal as you get six lids, so you can sprout as many types of seeds as you wish.

They are Stainless Steel - wont rust
The Wide Mouth Mason Jars come with lids that RUST ??!!I contacted them regarding this - and they said their lids are treated steel that should not rust for a while!I use these jars for making pickles and growing sprouts. And the lids rust within the first four weeks. And I don't even live near the sea. I suggested to them that they should consider using stainless steel.Let see what happens...I love the jars and the wide mouth and found out this supplier that had stainless steel jar lids which are amazing and work great for sprouting - which requires rinsing seeds in water daily while they are sprouting. You certainly don't need lids that RUST...
