Everyone loves show and tell....
We were so thrilled to get our copies of Thad's newest book, Pterodactyl Show and Tell. In fact, our grandson Henry thinks this book may be written about him. He has a pet Pterodactyl. We are HUGE fans of these children's books, and just like Thad's other books, this one has a clever story line, wonderful illustrations and so much fun to read aloud.AWESOME read Thad - THANKS - We are thinking of starting a fan club, I'm working on that idea!

Add it to your library!
This book is so fun, who doesn't love show and tell? The story is a ride from beginning to end and is so beautifully illustrated. It's a great book for teaching new vocabulary words, too.

It's great for the K kids.
I loved the author's first two books and could hardly wait for his new one which seemed to take forever, especially when you're older. Finally the book arrived and I was so disappointed. I read to kids from K to 2 in an inner city school and I love it when I can dramatize the book with the author's words. His first two books let me do it and we all loved it so when I heard Thad was planning a new book I waited and waited and finally it arrived. It's a lovely book with beautiful illustrations and the rhyming I love but it just doesn't match his first two books. So disappointed. Not discouraging anyone from buying it but if you have read his first two books, maybe he'll write another.

My daughter brought this to show and tell foe preschool. The teacher said all of the kids were laughing, they loved it. She asked if it could be sent again for dinosaur week.10/10 would recommend.

Funny and giggle worthy
Giggles are guaranteed in this silly yet somewhat edgy story of a pet many kids would enjoying owing...at least, in their dreams. It's show and tell, and this boy has the perfect thing to bring to school—his pet pterodactyl. The large creature quickly gains all the attention, and not few uncertain looks as he goes from class to class. Nothing runs smoothly, and kids as well as teachers are constantly afraid the pterodactyl might devour them. But the boy is oblivious to everything. This is a fun read, packed with imagination. The idea of taking a pterodactyl to school already will make young listeners curious. From the very first page it becomes clear that things aren't going to run smoothly, especially when the boy barely manages to keep his pterodactyl from devouring two kids before the first bell! But this book doesn't overstep any boundaries, nor does it turn into a creepy or scary read. The pterodactyl might have hunger on his mind, but there are too many other things going on if he does. This makes for a very edgy read, where snorts and giggles slide right along. The illustrations portray the pterodactyl as cute and friendly while still keeping him big and just a tad bit menacing. It's not enough to scare or make young readers not wish for their own pterodactyl (he is a lot of fun), but combined with the uncertain and scared looks on the characters' faces, a little bit of fear comes through. It's makes for a lovely mixture, especially since there's a lot of silliness built into the scenes as well. It's enjoyable just to look over the illustrations and get a taste for the nonsense again and again. This book makes for a fun read, especially for dinosaur fans. Unfortunately, there isn't much development in the situation, making the expressions of the other characters always uncertain and afraid. But it's still a read young listeners with enjoy.I received a complimentary copy and found it so cute and funny that I wanted to leave my honest thoughts. I am giving this 4.5 stars and rounding up.

Love, love, love it!!!
My kids fell in love with the first two books when they discovered them in their school library, so I bought them to have at home and they have been well-worn with love. This new book is just as wonderful and engaging! I really appreciate that the author doesn’t “dumb down” the vocabulary so kids have the opportunity to “accidentally” expand their knowledge while they giggle. I also love that the story is pro-school without being obvious about it. I mostly love that the kids love it! They spend lots of time scanning over the pictures, and they seem to continually find something new they hadn’t noticed before. The author and the illustrator did a marvelous job of intertwining their talents seamlessly so it looks as if it came from one mind. This makes for a smooth flow from beginning to end, and a delight to read aloud!

What a Fun Adventure!
Such a creative story for the little ones. I wish I would have a pterodactyl to take to show and tell, surely would make all the kids jealous. Very well illustrated and written book that is a hit for the little ones. Perfect gifts for your kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Maybe buy Thad's whole set of books as a Christmas gift? Nothing better for children that books, it helps them to create a whole world in their heads. One more thing, I love that such warm, creative ideas and thoughts came from an American Soldier who has served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Thank you for your service. Now go buy the book!!!!!
