HELP ME, I've fallen and I can't get up

When I first looked at T.D. Jakes' "Help Me, I've fallen and I can't get up," I didn't like the title. All I could see was that earlier t.v. commercial about the elderly woman falling out of the bed and crying for help. The ad just seemed to remind me of my coming old age. T.D. Jakes does write about the broadcast. "Like the woman in the commercial, we must put aside fear, pride, or embarrassment and learn not only how to ask for help but Whom to ask. After all, help is just a breath away." It wasn't long after the first page of the devotional that my mind changed. Thank goodness, God helps us through His Holy Spirit to see truth and think clearly. Each page is powerful and helpful.I can now say, "my goodness, the title is about me." I have fallen and always feel helpless to get back on the right track. This book is like a primer. It describes the way I might have fallen that day. It shows what God would like to see in my character. So, I get a description of the sin. I also get a description of righteousness which only comes when asking help from the Lord in faith. Then, there are the examples of real people from the Bible who T.D. Jakes writes about in the book. He really knows how to make these people come alive. Their lives fit into this contemporary world very easily. Submit to God and He will give you the power to overcome every obstacle in your life.Would I recommend this devotional? Yes! This is an excellent book for anyone who has been hurt, deals with pride, has suffered abuse in any form, or just needs to see how the Father loves us! I'm so thankful TD Jakes continues to write such amazing books that teach me so much along my journey.

The title and color caught my attention.This book is small enough to fit in my purse and the print is a nice size. Looking forward to reading. Happy Customer.

Bishop Jakes is just an awesome man of God. He makes the word alive and real to every day circumstances. Whatever discouraging/bad is happening in your life does NOT have to become your life's situation. You can recover--Get Up and start again. It's not how many times you fall down, but do you have the courage to get up? Simple easy read but boy a powerful book.

LOVED this book! TD Jakes is so insightful and has so much knowledge - yet his approach is inviting and makes you feel as if you're being taught by an elder in your family, not a major mega-church pastor. The examples are very real and relevant. I learned a lot by reading this book - I plan on reading it again.

I love how the Lord is leading TD Jake into spread the word of God. Great Book!

Bishop Jakes hit on everything that cause a person not to move forward in God, but gave sound Biblical reasons and ways in which a person can get back up. This book was very helpful in helping me realize the major issues I face and know that it would benefit many who finds themselves in a state of confusion about their place in God.

Easy to read/understand

It is hard not to fall in my walk with God, and i am learning the importance of getting back up again. This passage we have been called to is long and hard, but oh the joy that awaits when our days are done! Just skimmed through the contents and am looking forward to reading and re reading this time and again. P.S the book is very small in size(not pages), i guess i was expecting a full size book ( but then again i didn't check the measurements). Still..glad to have purchased this.

It is just what I needed. Full of encouraging and comforting words to get closer to GOD despite the flaws.

I was encouraged & would certainly recommend this bk, I'm not ashamed to say I've fallen along my Christian walk but it's finding a way of getting up that really matters, this bk was Great!! Don't give up get up!
