Love Hurts (Caged Love #1) is the very first book I've read by Mandi Beck and it will NOT be the last one . The opening line sucked me right in, yes I'm sure I've said that before but really? You'd have to be crazy not to agree with me."Nothing can kill a mood faster than having your *blank* in some chick’s mouth when the woman you love is calling."Deacon Love is the definition of hot dirty talking alpha male. He is a MMA fighter who says exactly what's on his mine and deal with the repercussions later. He has been best friends with Francesca "Frankie" "Princess" De Rosa since they were little kids. He's finally had enough of being in the friend zone with Frankie and is ready to lay his cards on the table.Frankie has always been afraid to move past friends with Deacon ,she knows that he likes to keep woman as just one night stands and don't do relationships. Is Frankie willing to take that step with Dec and risk the years of friendship and a broken heart on a real relationship?I will say there were times in Love Hurts where I want to throat chop both Dec and Frankie. These were 2 characters that really didn't really talk. They would jump to conclusion before knowing the other person's side of the story. So with that being said be prepared to be yelling at the character as you read, but READ Love Hurts you won't be disappointed.

I was so excited when this was published early - I had been looking forward to reading it from the very first blurb I saw. I'm a huge fan of stories that feature friends moving into a romantic relationship so this was right up my alley.I loved the first 35-40% of this book. Seeing the way Deacon loved Frankie was beautiful. By the 70% mark I was aggravated immensely with the heroine. I couldn't relate to her back peddling, even under the circumstances portrayed. At the 95% mark I wanted Deacon to wash his hands of her because to me she was a selfish, immature brat. I had honestly hoped that at some point either her father or Deac's father would light in to her ass for acting the way she did.I enjoyed the pace of the book and appreciated the lack of editing errors. Many authors' first books I've read recently are poorly edited which is a pet peeve of mine but Love Hurts definitely does not fall in that trap. The characters are fleshed out well, including the secondary characters, and I really enjoyed the family dynamics especially between the guys and Indie.My chief complaint is that this ends on a cliffhanger. Had I known that I would not have purchased or read the book until the next one is also available. I like to read a couples' story from beginning to end, not wait months (or years, or weeks) to find out how their journey ends.

Love Hurts is not a gentle read, it takes you head-on and captures you, not letting go until past the last words are read.I have never read a story quite as gripping as this one. It completely and utterly entrapped me in a swirl of well written characters and enough angst to last me a lifetime. This is definitely not a read for the feint of heart or mind. Our boy Deacon is a foul-mouthed sucker punch (pun intended) to our hearts. Our girl Frankie (AKA the Princess) is a sweet angel, until she spends some "quality time" with Deacon.I loved this story from the very first chapter. Deacon has known he loved Frankie for a LONG time. She doesn't know his true feelings, so she goes about being with other men. Deacon finally fesses up that he more likes her as a sister right when he's about to lose her to the uppity, righteous Andrew. Of course this would throw anyone for a tailspin. But when someone nearly takes out the Princess, all hell will be raining down on the person that dared to snuff out Deacon's girl.Deacon and Frankie get close to each other and all seems to go great, until a dirty little secret from his past decides to inch it's own way in. Can Deacon win the fight for Frankie? Is one straw too many for this combustible love? Love is never easy, but this story proves that Love REALLY Hurts.This book was great on so many levels! I fell in love with not only the main characters, but I am fond of even the secondary characters. The Love family has really found a place in my heart. Their family is soooo tight-knit and has each other's backs. And they are all a joined force to protect the Princess, but she's going to have to face down her own demons to be with Deacon. This book does end on a MAJOR cliffhanger, but for the first time I am considering paying for the second book BECAUSE IT WAS THAT GOOD. I cannot express enough how good this book is. Deacon is a force of his own, sure he's like everyone else and makes impulsive mistakes and has his own flaws, but he will win your heart no matter how hard you fight against him. As for Frankie, I liked her sass and spunk, but she sadly lost some of her luster over the course of the book. I'm hoping in this next one that we get back our Princess in full sassiness and heroin-ism.Bottom line--READ THIS BOOK. You will not regret it.

Ok first off, the cover for this book is HOT!!! This is my first book by Mandi Beck and now I’m hooked on her words & amazing characters. Love Hurts is not your average friends to lovers romance, this story is so much more and will have you unable to put down the book or your electronic device until you are done reading. And let me warn you now, this is only book 1 in a 2 book series.Deacon “The Hitman” Love and Frankie “Princess” De Rosa are not only best friends, they are family. Deacon is a fighter and ruler of the octagon but when it comes to his Princess, he is out of his element. What do you do when you are an manwhore who is in love with your best friend and she is dating a douche?You are going to fall in love with both of these characters but they will also frustrate the hell out of you. And then you realise its half ten at night and you haven't eaten yet! This is exactly what love hurts done to me!Deacon Love *sigh* he ruined me. He's my first fighter book boyfriend and I f-ing loved it!! An alpha who loves his lady unapologetically. PLEASE I never stood a chance. He has a *,little* of a temper. And it can be totally hot at times. Even though he sometimes doesn't exactly make the best decisions being pretty close to reckless but you fall hard so forgive him anyway.Frankie aka the princess. I love that. They all called her the princess. I really liked it! Who doesn't want a family of hot alphas looking out for you? Melted my heart. She really is put through a lot in this. Deacon is her safe place.When the lines between friends and lovers gets blurred along with other complications. Things get strained and they're put to the test."Shhhh, hear me on this princess. I was surprised so many times. I loved the family theme to it. I love Deacon Love and his alpha ways and his power to make me feel ALL the feels. This book made me snarl yes I actually snarled anytime the name cristiano appeared. This book just consumed me and I didn't want it to end. Deacon was hot, filthy, alpha and yet sweet. Frankie was strong,sassy,yet vulnerable and sweet. I can't wait for the next one!! *impatiently waiting of course*

I was hooked from the very first line. This is Mandi Becks debut novel, and what a debut, it is the best debut novel I have ever read!!! Deacon and his brothers will leave you hot and flustered as well as frustrated as hell. Deacon is a hot MMA fighter and his brothers train him, I'd love to met him, he'll, all of them, in a dark alley some night!!! Deacon will make you squirm, in the best of ways, his mouth is dirty, filthy and man does he live up to those promises!!! This book should come with a free supply of dry underwear!!! The relationship and the chemistry between Deacon & Frankie can be felt right off the bat, he loves her and she loves him even if she can't acknowledge it yet.....but what will the future bring????? Do yourself a favour and one click this book, it is the best decision you'll make this year

I don't think my words can do this book justice.... What an amazing debut novel for Author Mandi Beck!! I fell for Deacon Love immediately.... His dirty mouth, his rock hard fighter body... His Alpha male mind but his sweet sweet soul when it comes to Frankie that man knows how to love! He knows how to do a lot of things including hot as hell steamy action too....This story will draw you in, feel every emotion.. Feel every bit of pain but also feel the love... This has everything.. Love, fighting, suspense, thriller... Anger, romance and hot steamy erotic scenes and pure emotion that will keep you hooked all the way.....Without a doubt my favourite fighter and can't wait to get my hands on more...

Well! What a hot monster manbun wearing man! Mandi you have wrote a story that I could not put down but when I had to I couldn't wait to get back to it. I have literally just finished and I am in awe that this is you first novel. Deacon is an absolutely amazing character and you made him perfect. I had lady shivers all over when it came to this man, a man that loves as hard as he fights if not harder. Well done lass and hurry your backside up and give me the next one!!!If I could give this story more stars I'd give it 50!
