Bought this for my husband’s work but he’s out of town so now she is my new companion. Our clothes fit her which is a nice bonus, since I don’t have to go get her a new wardrobe.

Perfect CPR dummy! Just what I needed.

I’m an emergency physician and have taken BLS courses and delivered CPR to patients for three decades. I bought this manikin to use to teach CPR to a group of soccer players. Overall I like the quality of the manikin and the simulation of compressions I’m able to deliver with it. However, the feedback from the manikin is delivered by a series of lights on the left shoulder of the manikin. Presumably the red light indicates the compressions are inadequate and you’re after the green lights. But at the rate and depth and rate of compressions that I consider ideal for CPR, the light still glows red, and it requires compressions much faster than 100/minute to get the green lights. Although you could argue that faster compressions than 100/minute might be okay, the reality is that no one will be able to keep up compressions at that rate and depth for any length of time and it’s an unreasonable expectation. It also increases the likelihood that a potential rescuer will feel inadequate to get involved, thereby defeating the purpose of teaching CPR. So I plan on keeping the manikin and using it, but plan to use my own gauge to assess the quality of my participants’ compressions.
