"ME AND DEAD OWLS DON'T GIVE A HOOT"
In Harlan County laconic Raylan Givens continues to enforce justice his unique way. He knows exactly what makes locals tick and gets on well with most of them, even the rogues. Any, though, who mistake his amiable words of warning for softness are in for a shock.Last season's major death has left a power vacuum amongst the criminal fraternity. Boyd understandably is eager to fill the gap, but Limehouse, owner of a bar (and slaughterhouse!), proves a formidable contender. Enter "Carpetbagger" Robert Quarls, down from the North to show the ignorant hillybillies who really is boss....Timothy Olyphant is perfect as the imperfect marshal, Walton Goggins so good as Boyd one longs for him to survive. (Scenes between the two remain a particular pleasure.) Neal McDononough chills as the blue eyed smiling newcomer, from the start determined no one will stand in his way.Drenched in atmosphere, whilst graced with fine scripts and top notch performances, the series goes from strength to strength. Season 3 does not disappoint, its 13 episodes full of double-crosses, bloody despatches and a dramatic climax.Bonuses include nine commentaries, a fascinating feature on how Limehouse's workplace was created, details of how a major stunt was staged. Be advised the interesting Disc 1 extra about the new season contains spoilers - it perhaps better saved for watching at the end of it all.In short - stylish, classy, and great.

One of the best seasons
Season 3 has so much of everything. Growth of characters we know. Some we love, some we really shouldn't love and some we really want to see the demise of. And the introduction of the character of Robert Quarrels, brilliantly portrayed by Neal McDonaugh ( ? sp). A few things to laugh about along the way as Marshall Givens tries to stay out of Harlan County, really he does, but all roads lead to home. And there are still scores to be settled

Gets Better and Better
Really good season of Justified, with lots of interesting shady characters. There's also some good character development and storylines for many of the original characters, and I find it much easier to sustain my interest than I could in the first season. Happily, the pace has picked up a little since then and the plots are more intricate.I've also surprised myself by becoming almost as transfixed when Boyd Crowder is on screen as Raylan - his thuggish criminal has come a long way since the first season, and Walter Goggins is a captivating actor.

Pure Poetry
I have enjoyed all of Elmore Leonard's books, and his quirky characters. This series brings them alive more than I thought possible. The actorsare superb, each one better than the other, and the dialog is pure poetry.I cannot get enough of this, and can't wait for season 3.Marshall Raylan Givens is Timothy Olyphant's best role that I have seen,he fits this character much better than the sheriff in 'Deadwood', butmy favorite is Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder. Some of his lines aredelivered with such perfect pitch and precision that it is hard to sitstill watching (I want to slap my knee, and squirm, in appreciation.)Every detail in the series, from the wonderfully apt ganstagrass titlemusic and the off-color (as in old photographs) title sequence, is soperfectly fitting, one rarely sees such craftsmanship. In short, I enjoyed this series (seasons 1 & 2) immensely. My wife did not.

Justified just gets better.
I had to get this. Justified is my favourite series when I fancy a binge-watch . I love the way there are no absolute in this series. The heroes are fallible and often dishonest and the villains can be kind and sympathetic. The sporadic violence is shocking and unpredictable and the plotting is complex. The photography definitely owes a lot to the spaghetti western and the whole series could be seen as a modern day take on them too.The standard of acting is far better than in most television series and I really enjoy the humour that lightens the mood as well. If you enjoyed Deadwood you will love this.

Everyone's after Raylan
Picking up where season 2 left off with the death of Mags Bennett and everyone after her missing money including son Dickie and an exiled gangster from Detroit season 3 sees marshall Raylan Givens trying to stop the crime wave in Harlan County and constantly running into onetime childhood friend now adversary Boyd Crowder who is trying to control crime in the area and add in a mystery man called Limehouse and Raylan's father and everyone is coming after Raylan in season 3. Very underrated show with plenty of tension and humour as marshall Givens who acts like a 19th century cowboy in the present day brings his own style of justice. Very good cast but it's Timothy Olyphant as Raylan's show all the way.

Excellent TV series
This is getting to be an older TV show now. I've watched several seasons and quite enjoyed every episode. Entertaining and engaging. Timothy Olyphant is great as the lead. Many great characters and twists and turns along the way. Definitely recommend.

Justified 3 – Un acquisto sempre giustificato!

Keeps getting better
The third season of Justified continues to expand the criminal world in Harlan with Boyd basically returning to his criminal ways with the void left by the takedown of the Bennett clan, and the introduction of Ellstin Limehouse (played by Mykelti Williamson) who is basically the criminal leader of Noble's Holler, which is where (seemingly) a good chunk of the black population in the area lives, and Robert Quarles (played by the great professional character bad guy Neal McDonough) who is an Oxycontin dealer looking to get cheap oxy in Kentucky. The serial arcs really involve the old adage "there is no honor among thieves" with the bad guys basically trying to get one over on each other, and Raylan getting caught in the middle. There are also arcs about Raylan's personal life which intertwine with the other arcs. While there are definitely side stories this season, the show has pretty much abandoned any pretense of being a procedural show with stand-alone episodes. You pretty much have to watch them all in order to understand what is going on in any subsequent episode. For those who get the Blu-Ray set, the A/V quality continues to be very good. Even though the show is not very effects-heavy, the fact that the colors and the scenery really pop in the HD format is worth getting the Blu-Ray versus DVD. The extras, which are spread across all the discs, include commentary tracks on many (but not all) episodes, deleted scenes and outtakes, a few making-of and behind-the-scenes featurettes that range from about nine minutes to about twenty minutes, and an almost half-hour-long conversation between Olyphant and Goggins. So, there is a lot there if you like the bonus material.Overall, the series continues to be well-written and acted. I still think the smaller slate of episodes per season (13 this season) works to tell the story yet leaves the audience wanting more because they are not stretching things out to fill a 22-24 episode season. If you are a fan of the first two seasons, then you will probably be a fan of this one as well.
