BilcoSize B Basement Door (Gray)

Bought bulkhead in March rusted by September..Bilco is refusing to make good on the bulkhead base that has rusted. They have sent the new doors but not base.. this is already costing me money to replace doors now I have to replace base also.. poor quality and poor company.

Replaced an old Bilco with a brand new one. Changes to the 'new' design ... gas shocks for easier opening/closing (good), and wider gaps to let in more airflow (bad). I can now see much more daylight through the door (looking inside out). The installer says this is to increase airflow and reduce interior condensation. Sounds good, but the reality is I get water (A LOT of water after a heavy rainfall) in through the increased gaps, so the stairs to my basement are wet, and there is much more condensation. This can only result in more rust, mold and shorter lifespan. Bilco please respond to this review, I'd like to know the remedy, since the installer has no answer for me, claiming it is inherent in the design.
