Makes a good fish pond.
I believe this will be a good fish pond once winter comes and the gold fish settle down so that I can move them. My current pond has a liner that leaks. I am pretty sure the description for this size tank implies that a float is included, but it was not. I don't think I need one; guess I will get it if I need it.July 4, 2018 - happy to say that the pond is working wonderfully well for my 15 or so goldfish and 4 water lily plants. The picture was taken last fall before the lilies had put out any leaves but now they all have leaves and there have been 2 flowers. Fish seem very happy even though the temps have been 100 for several days, and they did well over the winter when we had some days in the 20's. That's Texas. I have a small pump to aerate the water and tried a couple of water falls, but they did not work so well.

4 years with no leaks!
I purchased this stock tank back in June 2017 and used it as a patio pond. After filling it up, I've had no issues ever since. It's above ground on a flat surface and I'm located in Florida so I don't have to worry about the tank getting weathered during the colder months. When I drain the water I use a hose to drain it, I've never unscrewed or touched the drain plug. I think I would have run into some issues down the line if I decided to unscrew it every water change. If I were to transfer the pond outside, I'd probably add a layer of play sand on the ground to avoid any cracks at the bottom over time. You won't regret this purchase, if anything you'd probably get a bigger stock tank over time as your fish grow, which I plan on doing soon

Leaks around the drain plug
Leaks around the drain plug. Plug doesn't fit to any 1.5 inch union's or any adapters I've tried.

I would totally buy it again!
We use this tank to put our Koi in when we're cleaning our pond. It's perfect! Sturdy. Big. Easy to drain. Couldn't do what we do without it!!! It certainly has so many uses, and it was so convenient having it delivered right to the house.

stock tank turned Pond*
Got this for my husband. We had two small boats we made into ponds but Raccoons were eating our fish and koi and destroying. We love this. I purchased a reed fencing to go around it and even hung nautical sort of roping around it. We put plants and our fish and new koi and its gorgeous. My husband wants to purchase another one*

You must take apart the drain plug and bulkhead and silicone it.
The media could not be loaded. This works great as an indoor goldfish pond. The only problem i had was that the drain plug needed silicone caulked.

Guaranteed to leak
This Rubbermade tank is pure junk. If you fill up the tank with water the drain plug will eventually leak. The only way to empty the tank is to unscrew the cap which covers the drain hole( bulkhead). Then watch how the water gushing out turns into Niagara Falls. There is no way you can successfully put a petcock or shut off valve on the enter drain. You may be successful for a short amount of time but eventually it will start to leak. Don’t be fooled about the Rubbermade lifetime guarantee. Their Lifetime defect guarantee is just for one year. They are unscrupulous and deceptive.
