Edelnice Trachtenmoden 2-Piece Dirndl Dress Authentic Bavarian Floral Exlusive

I'm from Munich and grew up going to the Oktoberfest several times a year. I haven't owned a dirndl since moving to the US, but finally decided it was time this year, after being invited to a Bavarian themed party.This is a great dirndl for the price! I would feel confident wearing it back home in Germany as well, without constant worry of it being outed as a knockoff.One thing about sizing: Based on many reviews I decided to size up. I'm usually a size 4 or 6, but ordered an 8, hoping it wouldn't still be too tight. I had to return it because it was too BIG! The size 4/6 (German size 36, which has always been my size) was perfect! So I'm not sure if sizing has been adjusted recently, but as far as I'm concerned this dress is true to size.

This dress is absolutely gorgeous! It’s authentic and very well made, not cheap or costume looking at all! Fabric is very thick and nice and it has a sewn in slip too! I love that it comes with the blouse also, so many make you order one separately so I really liked that. The blouse is somewhat adjustable with the cinching strings. I’m glad I took everyone’s advice and ordered up a size because it fits perfectly! Definitely size up one size than you normally wear! I wear a 38DD bra and the size 16 fits perfectly and zips up without problem. I’m 5’8” and the dress hits be knee length. The green is a bit darker than the picture shows but it’s beautiful regardless. Very happy with my purchase and it’s very flattering on!

Bought this for my friend in a size 8 US/38 and 10 US/40. She normally wears a size 6-US and the size 10 US/40 ended up being the winner. Pretty dirndl, but the zipper on the 38 was DOA so I would give yourself plenty of time to return/replace it before your event, just in case.

The quality of the dirndl was as expected.- Upper bodice nice thickness.- Lower skirt portion was a slight bit thinner than expected but still nice. I was not aware that the floral pattern and brown fabrics were sewn together in the front and layered in the back.- apron was thin, but nice.All in all it is a good quality for the price and 10 times better than the other dirndl that I returned.Sizing... I am a big girl, 5' 9", 220lbs with 38DD and I normally wear a size 18 dress. I was going to follow the recommendation of other reviews and order a size up, but they didn't have the next size up. So I took a chance and ordered my normal size 18/48 and I was glad I did. The dress was perfect in the main bodice, but I found it to be a little loose in the bust area. When I put on a padded pushup bra it filled the gap perfectly.Length... It is not midcalf, but I am 5' 9" and expected it to be a little shorter. For me it comes just below the knee and is acceptable.

This is a really nice quality dirndl, especially for the price point. I'm of German descent, though this is my first experience with tracht/dirndl. So while I don't have much to compare it to, I can say this does not seem costume-y in the least. I'd also say that the picture on the listing doesn't really do it justice; the dress is much nicer in person. I agonized over the sizing before heeding the many reviews that advised sizing up. As other reviews have recently noted, sizing up may not be necessary. I am 5'4", around 123-125 lbs., and a 32D. I almost always wear a US size 6, (occasionally a size 4), and carry most of my weight on my bottom half. I originally ordered a 38 (US 8) and it was absolutely huge, gapping at the bust and just generally too big all over. The size 36 (US 4/6) is just right. It's snug but not restrictive in the bodice (as it should be), and forgiving and comfortable in the skirt portion of the dress (the better to accommodate Bier and Wurst). Other reviewers have commented that the ribbon on the bodice is a brighter green than the picture on the listing. The first dress (size 38) had a chartreuse ribbon that was indeed much brighter than the rest of the dress. The second dress I ordered (size 36) had more of a sage/mint green ribbon that blends in more with the floral fabric of the dress. Both were a very simple, inexpensive satin ribbon that could easily be upgraded with a nicer quality ribbon (perhaps velvet?). Also, I agree with another review that stated that the dress is maybe a little darker than it appears on the listing -- and I, personally, like it that way. I did also buy a dirndl bra shaper undergarment to go with this dress BOOLAVARD Women's Magic Bra Shaper Vest Breast Support (Medium / 4, Nude), and I'm glad I did. It helps achieve the right look, without making the effect at all tacky. Overall, I'm very happy with this dirndl. Is it one of those gorgeous drool-worthy numbers you see on Pinterest or on German sites that cost four or more times what this one does? No. But it definitely exceeded my expectations and I'm excited to wear it for Oktoberfest-themed events now, and hopefully for years to come.

I bought a ton of dirndl's to try for my first trip to Oktoberfest in Munich. This one was the nicest quality, and the sleeves weren't ridiculously tight. When I ordered a size 40, they incorrectly sent a 36 which was way too tight, but when I reordered a 38 (and they adjusted the price since it had increased in 2 days!) the 38 is wonderful!!! Great service, quick response and this dirndl is beautiful. Has a pocket (which all authentic dirndl's should have), the apron is so pretty, and the fit is very flattering. The top is soft and comfortable. I'm pretty much a solid size 6 at J Crew and ordered a size 38 which fit great.

I can't wait to wear this for halloween and all beerfests in my future.This runs TRUE TO SIZE. I ordered a US 8 instead of my normal US 6, because according to other reviews this runs large, and guess what, it is one size too big. The bust and waist are slightly large but I will make the 8 work because it's too close to halloween to return for a smaller size, I will tighten the apron so the waist fits and wear a more padded bra for the chest to fit. For reference I am 6' tall, 34C, 27.5" waist and 38" hips.Fabric is nice, very comfortable, seems very well made, the color is a dark green, not a light khaki like the picture shows and it has a pocket! Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
