Essential knowledge for clinicians who graduated 20 or more years ago
After more than 50 years I have retired from Medical Practice and now no longer classed as a health service provider but a health service consumer. 25 years ago I did a stint in administration and had my pharmacology knowledge updated to the standards of that time. I purchased this book our of interest and perhaps a little self pride at keeping up-to-date. It is fairly complete in covering the range of clinical pharmaceutical issues, well laid out, well written, well illustrated, and set at a useful level of knowledge. It is useful. I know one younger colleague seeing it on my Tablet noted the Title, and the reasonable cost down with the intention of getting onto Amazon for a copy. Although no longer prescribing I feel increasingly confident, if required, to give first class informed consent on pharmacological management. I would like to think that any physician attending me or my family has had some update, such as this volume, over the past decade or so.

The gold standard for pharmacology texts
I love this textbook. Even if your medical/nursing/dental school doesn't use this one, I'd pick it up. the diagrams are crystal clear, and explanations are accessible.Definitely combine with the USMLE prep books for mnemonics though. There is no substitute for practice but acronyms come in handy on test day.

Katzung VS Lehne
Written by Dr's.. so a bit overwhelming to understand but the illustrations help me with my clas. I also have Lehne Pharmacology book and that one is more user friendly.

Excellent quality, and on time
It said used; however, it was practically new. Baring one black line so that we know it is used. Far better quality than I expected. 100% pleased and would recommend. Plus price was great

Great book
Great explanations for primary care doc. Explains MOA very well! Categorizes drugs, has pictures so you can retain the info. So glad I had it for my board review.

Too many PhDs!!
I had to take a pharm exam after 30+ years of practicing medicine, and I can guarantee you that patients never ask about which gabaminergic receptors are activated by a drug. The book has sample exam questions, but save yourself time and aggravation by sticking to questions dealing with patient care; the Boards and the patients want to keep it practical.

Advance Pharmacology
Book I needed for FNP school, seems to be an easy read and easy to understand the material alongside what my teacher is lecturing on.

Review of Kindle Edition: No page numbers!
I think people should be aware prior to purchasing the Kindle edition that there are no page numbers, only "location" numbers. This presents a problem when trying to produce authentic references as well as follow along with the rest of the class. Too, bad. It seems that this is not beyond the reach of technology. I have several other textbooks that have this issue as well as one that does not.

Great amount of details on a wide range of topics ...
A must-have for pharmacologists. Great amount of details on a wide range of topics - from the basics to the complex pharmacodynamics and kinetics associated to the drugs covered under each chapter. Excellently written.

Great
It's a great book, not difficult to read at all (which surprised me at first) and very useful overall if you need to study Pharmacology.
