wonderful addition to my yard
My family built this pergola about two weeks ago. It was a little complicated to put together, but at this point it seems to be well made. You definitely need helpers at various points in the process. The shades are beige and can be velcro'd together in the middle or pushed to each side at the middle to let sunlight in. It's nice that the shades are long enough to bring it all the way down on one side if needed. It looks great in my yard and goes very well with the convertible benches I bought. I am very happy with this purchase!

Four Stars
The Velcro isn't that great and if it rains, the seam is right in the middle.

Not quite there yet.
The Frame works well and holds up in the wind and rain, but I can't say so much for the canvas. Sorry to say that the "Tie Downs" on the canvas are beginning to snap off. I believe the stitching holding the Velcro and the Tie Downs should be reinforced with more thread. I'll probably be buying another canvas for next summer.

I love this pergola
. I can now sit in my backyard when the sun is going down. I couldn't before because whatever type of shade I had before (and there were many) they wouldn't block the sun. It is the right dimensions and the shade pulls back and forth. It looks great over my patio furniture. Ties it all together.

Frame good. Canopy bad.
The pergola frame is great. Sturdy and durable. The canopy sucks. It lasted about a year and we took it down pretty religiously for rains and heavy winds. The reason I’m only giving one star is because the canopy is not terribly easy to remove and the company doesn’t sell replacements! Like, you will have to replace it eventually since it lives outside and it’s made of polyester....

Two stars because frame is eazy to assemble and good quality. Canvas material however is cheep and shredded in first first few months at outer seams. Frame roof has no pitch and cover will trap gallons of water stressing the fabric so cover must be taken down after each use which is not a simple process. Would not buy this product again

I love this piece
I love this piece, but you really need 3 people to put it together. My hubby and I did it in 5 hrs. We added planters with rocks to hold it down. We live in S Florida where it's windy and rainy in the summer. So we take the tarp off unless we are outside.

Not completely retractable.
I love it. I added lights and it’s perfect
