Avoid unless you prefer labour intensive clean-up to actual construction!
Don't be fooled these are not timesaving. This set is sold as a two-step process i.e. link two tracks together and glue on guide horns piece to hold the track together then repeat 191 more times to get to sets of 96 tracks per side. Given that I'd used Ryefield links previously which have 5 parts per link, I thought that I'd save myself the time and get these for my next project. They also make a deal of the fact that the kit pieces come "off sprue" i.e. separate pieces so no need to cut parts from the sprue. This all sounded great in theory however the mould lines, flash and Ejector Pin Marks make this a lot of work. Each track piece has four ejector pin marks, including one in the space where the guide horn needs to be attached. This means a further 798 steps to clean the tracks well enough that they are clean and actually fit together properly when the guide horns are glued into place. In addition, the area that originally was attached to the sprue needs sanding to ensure a decent fit between each track. add another 192 steps. Leave them on the sprue, I can get a cleaner cut than this myself! The guide horns are a real mixed bag some with a lot of flash others with some flash yet more damaged or warped all have sprue-gate residue. Each needs cleanup, therefore, another 192 clean-up steps. So close to 1400 necessary steps to get the tracks to fit correctly! They are also a lot thinner than the Ryefield ones I've used.I gave up after 2 links into the second run of tracks and have started on another set of Ryefield tracks which are flash free EPM free and come on very clean crisp and well-designed sprues that leave very little material to clean up.
