Ghost Beach is by R. L. Stine is Goosebumps book 22 in original published order. Ghost Beach is scary, in both its nightmare scares and real-life scares. This book is hauntingly atmospheric. It sets the tone early and will give the reader goosebumps. The twist is clever and it asks you the audience what is going on? The final twist could be the best one yet, I loved it so much. The plot is very similar to the very first Goosebumps book Welcome to the Dead House. The book is paced so well and a really fast read, that is hard to put down. The scares that work are the hands grabbing from the grave, finding a dead body, skin peeling off bones, ghosts that can kill, and the final twist. This is a good story about the campfire. This book did not have to be called ghost beach, more like ghost cave. There is nothing that dates this story, you can't tell it was written in the '90s. This is one of the better Goosebumps stories that I have read in some time. This story will stick with me more than others. Check how high a ranking this story will go against all the 21 other Goosebumps books I have read so far at the bottom of this review.The Plot: Jerry and Terri spend their Summer vacation in a cabin near the woods, a beach, and a graveyard. They meet 3 other children around the same age with the same last name, who live not too far away, the kids, their distant cousins, like pranks and scare each other, they warn of ghosts and are they joking or serious. Their relatives are happy they made friends with the local children, but what those friends said about ghosts seeks into their brains and they must find out if ghosts exist or not.What I Liked: The final twist, I was a little shocked by, and what it means for the characters, it was a pretty awesome twist, more out of Tales from the Crypt than Goosebumps. I liked the brother/sister relationship, Stine will sometimes write them too annoying but this one was just right. The twist kept me guessing until the end. I like how dark this tale got with the graves dug for Terri and Jerry, to the skins falling off to reveal skeletons, and the final twist. The pranks weren't too much, they were good and provided a jump scare.What I Disliked: The rules of ghosts were never established, it is said that they can go through walls but it never happens.Recommendation: This is a can't-miss Goosebumps novel, it is scary and spooky with a great twist. The story and the twist will stick with me. I rated Ghost Beach by R. L. Stine 5 out of 5 stars. This was the one goosebumps book my son HAD to have. This was the specific one. He loves it.

Cool book!

My 8 year old son loves these books. He likes the stories and can't put them down. Good mix of being on his reading level and still challenging him by expanding his vocabulary.

My son was having difficulties getting into reading, so we kept searching for something that would interest him. My wife suggested that we try scary stories as that was how she found her love of books. Sure enough it worked! He went from barely being able to read, to pouring through each book as fast as he could. His reading scores skyrocketed! Thank you Goosebumps!!

This book has made it to my daughter's top five favorites! She is a huge Goosebumps and R.L.Stine fan. She says this is one of the best books she has read. She says the plot is twisting, misleading and can confuse the reader, it is grand. Like I said it made it to her top five shelf. She has reread it several times.

It wuz a very very very very very very cool !! book I loved it so much that I cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and cried for a gift card to buy this book. I loved it I absolutely loved it rock on RL Stein!!!!

De niño disfrutaba muchísimo de leer estos libros. Tengo algunas de las primeras ediciones de 1994 y siempre fue mi sueño tener la colección completa. Ahora través de Amazon puede intentar hacerme con algunos de los que me faltan para terminar la colección original de 63 libros. Tienen valor nostálgico agregado muy importante. La calidad de los libros es variable dependiendo del título. En términos generales son muy recomendables para niños de entre 6 a 11 años que gusten del horror pero no tengan edad para espantarse demasiado...

Ich lese diese Bücher sehr gerne, da es geeignete Kurzgeschichten für den Abend sind. Warum jedoch nur 4 Sterne? Die Spannung! Sie baut sich oftmals nur schleppend / langsam auf und wir am Ende mit einem Satz beendet. Ansonsten gerne zu empfehlen :-)

Bought for a christmas present,thinking about buying some more this year. Very good for the older boys storys just great. Goosebumbs are a fun book the childen couldn't put it down {buy for a present any day
