Great quality, worth the splurge!
This was the best splurge we made for our new baby! The pebble cover is incredibly soft and the mattress itself is very thick and of great quality. We had purchased another brand initially, but returned it. The nook is superior to all others, even brands like Naturepedic and Babyletto in my opinion.

NOOK is not providing full disclosure
This review is based solely on the information disclosed by the manufacturer on their NOOK website and what the product is actually made out of. The description provided by Amazon appears to be taken directly from the NOOK website. The mattress is being advertised is "100% organic" with only natural ingredients. The cover is advertized as being made out of "Eucalyptus, Organic Cotton, Zinc, Easy‐Close Nylon Zipper". The claim of this product being all natural is the reason why I got this mattress. When the mattress arrived, I discovered that the mattress cover is made out of 55% polyester, 10% cotton, and 35% eucalyptus fibers! I thought this must be my mistake and that somehow I missed this in the product description. I went back to the NOOK website and Amazon and NOWHERE does it say that the cover contains 55% polyester! I contacted NOOK about this and here what they wrote back: "Thank you for contacting Nook Sleep! All Nook products come with the Certified Organic wrap which is made of Organic cotton and a very small amount of polyester within the pebbles to keep them full and able to be refluffed when washed. The raised pebbles are designed to keep little one's face up off the mattress to maximize breathability and air flow ...". At least they did not deny that the cover contains polyester! I will be filing a complaint with BBB and FTC. Full disclosure by NOOK will fix the issue. I am considering returning the mattress.

Excellent Product for those who want a healthy lifestyle for their infant/toddler.
I purchased this mattress through another vendor for my son a year ago. We are now expecting a second child and we discussed whether or not we would purchase a twin mattress for my 14 month old or move the Nook Pure mattress to a toddler bed and purchase another Pure mattress for our soon to be born little girl.Overwhelmingly, we agreed. Buy another Pure mattress. Why? I had a lot of respiratory illnesses/allergies as a child. Many of my friends that have newborns have experienced respiratory illnesses, ear infections, etc. I really attribute his good health to an organic lifestyle which includes his mattress. For a crib, I very much recommend the IKEA Sniglar crib for $69.00. It has no toxic chemicals (staining/polyurethane coating). This crib is sturdy and again organic. I read about the IKEA Sniglar crib on an organic mom's blog. And she was definitely right! Most parents spend more than double for even the cheapest crib. Purchase the IKEA Sniglar and one can afford the more expensive Pure mattress and rest easy at night that your child will be healthier for it.After 14 months of use by my son. The mattress is in excellent condition. It is approved for use up to 50 lbs. I can sit on the mattress on his toddler bed and the mattress is solid.

GOOD MATTRESS FOR STOMACH SLEEPERS
We had a few issues with the mattress/cover smelling a bit strongly when it arrived. This was concerning, but Nook sent us an entirely new mattress and cover and after laundering the cover, it smells fine. Our daughter has just begun sleeping on her belly at 8 months, which is nerve racking, but I feel better knowing that if she faces down on this mattress, she can breathe. That alone makes having gone through the return process worth it.

Very pleased with the mattress
I bought this mattress for my daughter in 2011 and I am very satisfied with it. She sleeps great. We decided to buy one for our second daughter too.

The best
I can sleep on this mattress. Superior quality. Very firm. I tried going for cheaper mattress with my second child but after having a Nook any other mattress seemed of very poor quality. The only negative is that it is very heavy making it a challenge to change the bed sheet. But it is worth it to me. Both my children are good sleepers and I would like to think the great mattress helps.

I have no idea how this has so many great reviews
I can’t believe these 5 star reviews. To spend this much money and receive what felt like cardboard with some padding on top, is crazy to me. It felt like a mom’s diy project. Yes, infant mattresses need to be firm, but the quality of this really felt like it cost $15 to make. Incredibly bummed. I’m all about organic for my baby, but if I’m spending this much money, it better be good quality.

Toddler sleeps like a rock
For the first year or so of our oldest sons life, he slept on a pretty cheap vinyl mattress with a cover and sheets. He would wake up semi-regularly in the middle of the night and we thought it was just normal. After trying just about everything else, we thought maybe a new mattress would help. We knew it was a bit pricey, but we thought if he didn't sleep good on it, than it's not the mattress. Since about the first night on it, he's slept like a rock pretty much every night. When he wakes up, it's only because he has a good reason. He's almost 2 now and it's on his toddler bed. We bought a second one of these for his little brother. It is expensive, but it actually makes a huge difference. You won't regret it.
