Variety of high-interest images; Reluctant little artist loves this series
We have two kids, one (age 6) who loves to write and draw and who carries a pen and little writing pad around with her wherever she goes, and one (age 9) who loathes to even pick up a pencil or crayon. We have been using the first three books for approximately six months and they both LOVE them. At the behest of the children, I ordered books 4-8 from various merchants. Each book in the 8-book series has a variety of high-interest images. Each section is a two-page spread with the drawing instruction on one page, a completed scene on the next accompanied by four lines of large-print text below. The series begins with simple drawings and simple text in book one and gradually increases to more complex drawings and verbiage while maintaining the four-line format. However, I don't use the books in order. Each morning, I put all eight books on the table and the children (one boy, one girl) each choose from which book they will draw dependent upon their interest and their perceived ability. My 9-year-old has become noticeably more confident in his ability to draw and his penmanship has improved dramatically. And this was a boy who cried every time he had to write ANYTHING and never even liked to color. He doesn't cry about writing any more and he looks forward to drawing every morning now. This series has been a lovely way to help build confidence in our reluctant boy, who has even taped a few of his pictures on his wall(!) and has helped to hone the ability of our daughter who is just naturally more oriented toward writing and drawing. I can't recommend this series of books highly enough.

Well thought out and easy to follow!
Excellent book. My kids are 5 and 3 and enjoy it. I do have to guide them a bit and help with the more challenging sketches but overall it’s been fun!

Learning to Draw at Home
My kiddos and I enjoy each book we have gotten. I like that I am able to sit with them and draw and learn new skills too. We only have 4 so far but I am definitely going to get the rest. These books have also been helpful when we study certain topics in school. The kiddos would draw and recreate the things they have learned.

Super series
I love this series. My son (6) hates to practice writing but this made it fun for him. He loves drawing and the directions are so easy for him to follow. We have a whole "gallery" going down the hallway. We give him drawing paper for the picture and then tape the handwriting paper to the bottom so the description stays with the drawing. I think it will be great to pull them out years from now and see how he's progressed - that's if I can ever take them off the wall!I would recommend this series to anyone!

Draw Write Now
I homeschool our children and we enjoy using this as part of our curriculum. We do it once a week. I write it out on the board then give them time to write it out then we learn to draw the picture together. The step by step instructions help anyone be an increadible artist and art teacher. So I can have my older students to do the same thing as the younger I have them write the passage in cursive and add more writing from things they know.

E-Book makes teaching fun!
I have purchased each "Draw Write Now" book at least twice, because I always end up losing or misplacing them. They are also always spirited away by one of my students. With the e-book, I am able to load the desired pages from my Kindle app on my computer, and project them from my smartboard. This makes teaching the lesson so much easier; everyone can see the steps and examples, and I get to keep my book in a safe place. I'm going to get all of them!

I can't say enough good things about this curriculum
I can't say enough good things about this curriculum! I am able to take 10 min out of my day and really sit and talk with my son while enjoying our writing. His drawings look amazing! I print out two pages and we each do one. If I want him to practice his cursive it's very easy to adapt the pages.

Very simple, not for proffesional
Wonderful and very simple for people that don’t know how to draw.

My 6 year old loved these books
We really love the draw right now series and use them in our homeschool setting. My daughter is a year 1/KS1/6 year old who loves drawing and detests writing. This book helps her build up her writing stamina as after she drawn the picture she is happy to do the short copywriting exercise that explains her artwork. I give this series a massive thumbs up!
