Helps stop nail biting. Really.
They say nothing ever stops nail biting. I disagree. Those bad tasting nail polishes? Trash. Gloves? Don't waste your money. Only daily attention to your hands will stop it. Have zero tolerance for hangnails, or even the tiniest rough spot. Always have a nail file close at hand, and use it to smooth not just your nails, but also the skin around your nails. But that's not enough. The skin has been damaged for years, and has dried out. It has callouses and it's inflamed. The first thing that helped me was hyalauronic acid hand creams. But that wasn't enough. It's helpful and I still use it. But Neutrogena's Norwegian repair lotion was the final piece of the puzzle. The cuticles would still dry out in less than 24 hours. The area around the nails still mysteriously developed hangnails and ridges within hours of applying moisturizer. And even after 8 months of careful nail and hand care, I still can't do hand and nail care just once a day and leave it alone.I still have one more possible step I may take in the future, that's lotions with ceramides. But for now, I'm stable using high-glycerine lotion (Neutrogena Norwegian lotion) and a hyalauronic acid + dimethicone "sealing" lotion on top (there are many of these, Crabtree and Evelyn, Bath and Body Works, Olay, etc). I keep my nails short, but I've let them grow to 1/4 inch. It still feels too weird. I don't want to trigger any tendencies to bite so I'm not going to try to let them grow for now. It's enough that I don't have a bunch of injuries at my fingertips.I've tried it for a couple of other things and it works for dry eyes and chapped lips, in my experience. It has no smell and seems to improve skin right away. But you should be careful not to get too much on your palms because it will feel sticky in the creases, and the sticky feeling will not go away, if you use too much. Just apply it to small areas on the palms if possible. My routine is to smooth the nails and skin around the nails with a nail file. Then rinse with water and towel dry. Clean under the nails. Then apply Norwegian (glycerin) lotion to fingertips and any dry spots. Then cover all with a hyalauronic+dimethicone lotion and let that dry for 30 sec. If I'm going to bed, I may wear cotton gloves, but not always.

Saves dry hands
I have been a dental hygienist. I wash may hands multiple times an hour each day so my skin gets so dry and cracks, especially in the winter. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is the only product I have found to keep my hands soft. I put it on every night before bed and it solves my dry hand problem.
