These are head and shoulders above all the media storage towers / units that I've bought before. They can be used for anything you like but they are specifically sized to hold cds, dvds and blu ray discs.At 43cm wide I felt a little cheated, as the nearest (and seemingly only) competitor for this exact style of shelf is 60cm, but it is better because you can have small gaps inbetween to show the wall behind and therefore not make your wall look so clogged.The shelves are sturdy and very well finished - the white and black options are glossy and none of the 12 I bought have a single blemish. The sides being there is a nice touch, saving you from having to choose bookends.All fixings and a mini spirit level come in each box. There are 2 shelves to a box so you can use what you need and keep the others safely packed without taking up too much space.The issue with these of course is that they are despatched by Amazon US, they aren't available here in the UK. Despite this I received them in 5 days (!!) with full tracking as usual every step of the way.A couple of things to keep in mind:1 - these are free delivery (:D) for UK Prime members if despatched from Amazon US. If you are not Prime, expect approximately £45 - £50 postage and packing for a set of 6 shelves. I saved £98 just for being a Prime member. These are small, but light /flimsy they are not.2 - there is an import charge applicable in lieu of VAT, which for my order amounted to about £30 for 12 shelves.3 - these are not the cheapest shelves you can buy. However, if you want this media-focussed design the only real competitor comes in at more than double the price.I would like to see these in a wider colour range but considering what they are designed for, it isn't really a surprise that they are black and white.
