Excellent
Don't be fooled by the sober, clear (and entertaining) narrative style of this book...: this is an in-depth, comprehensive and professional study on the subject. This book was very helpful for me (a non-American Food Safety professional) to understand the FS American system: story, institutions, personas. Highly recommended.Despite the relatively expensive price of the book, I hope there will be in future up-to-date editions since it treats a quite evolving subject.

Lytton's book is the Silent Spring by Rachael Carson and Sandy County Almanac by Aldo Leopold for the food industry. A fascinating and easy read. Essential reading.
