Don't waste your time!
This book is truly awful. No character introductions, or character development, and there is no resolution to any problem that is introduced. You don't know who the characters are, what motivates them other than ballet - sometimes you don't even know why they like ballet. Most of the time, it's hard to even like any of the characters, given how they all treat each other. I forced myself to keep reading, hoping something was going to make it worth my time, and there might be some resolution to at least one of the many issues introduced in the book, but no such luck. I guess the idea is to read more in the series, but I can't imagine any reason why I would want to do that.

Dialogue-heavy
A potentially good plot, but the characters are incredibly stereotyped (there's the stupid skinny girl, the eating-disordered girl that the teachers all pick on, the new girl, the new boy, the gay boy, the mean teacher...). There's not much aside from dialogue here, and, like, waaay too many of the, like, characters talk in this totally moronic way. I mean, like, it's SO annoying because you can't, like, understand what they're even saying. For, like, an entire chapter. The author is obviously trying to emulate how a stupid teenage girl speaks, but lays it on far too thick. This book could be good, but just isn't well-written. Too bitty, too many characters that have no important role to play other than say something else unkind which could just have easily been said by the chief mean girl. I assume there's a sequel as the book basically just stops with no closure whatsoever, which is no way at all to end a book that's sold alone.
