Does it’s job!
My cat hasn’t brought home a bird, baby bunny, or baby squirrel since I started using these bibs. This is my second bib because he lost his one from last summer. You have to have a collar that is safe enough to break away during and emergency but solid enough to not break away with a misplaced step. He does walk a little bow legged with it on, but I only put it on him when he is outside. It’s worth not finding he’s killed one of the orioles that visit my yard. Great value… even if you have to replace it because the last one was lost.

It works!
Our cat had taken a sudden interest in birds and had brought several in the house over the space of a week. I put one of these on her and the killing stopped. After 3 or 4 weeks I removed it, and we've not had a bird kill since. The first one I used on another cat about 15 years ago worked equally well. He wore it for a while, and after I took it off, no more bird kills.

Did not work for our cat
Our 6 year old cat recently began marking in the house, a habit we couldn't break her of -- so with reservations, we let her go outside during the day with a cat door so she could gain access to one room of our house for her food and water. Unfortunately, she quickly turned out to be an adept hunter, bringing every creature imaginable into the house from shrews and butterflies to broadhead skinks. We love the nature, and were heartbroken to see the destruction she was wreaking on those creatures who called our yard home. Also, having an injured shrew dash through the living room and hide behind the bookshelf was really no fun.We realized the cat bib might not work for a cat who catches such a wide array of creatures. On her second day wearing the bib, she lost it in a tree. Fortunately, one of the kids spotted it and returned it to her, but later that day she delivered an injured massive broadhead skink, the large size bib still attached and clearly wasn't an impediment.I hate to bring the rating of the entire product down, since it has been studied and has clearly worked for some people, and may be a good product if birds are the only concern, but it didn't seem to slow our killer cat down a bit. So for us, it was a waste of money (particularly since we bought the accompanying collar) and a disappointment.

Have to try it to know
The media could not be loaded. Reading the description, I understood the purpose; it explicitly states that it will not hinder a cat from doing cat stuff… But I decided to give it a try anyways. My main objective is to stop murdercat from jumping my fences, taking off all night, and bringing unalived (and sometimes live) things in the house. When I put this on him, he is super awkward walking around. Yet somehow, he still managed to immediately climb the 6 ft privacy fence and disappear…. And bring back a mole. Plan B is to try it on our deaf cat, since she only jumps our low (42”) fence. I would still give it a decent rating, had he still not come back with a “prize”.

This Thing Works.
The media could not be loaded. No more dead birds. Period. My cat can run, jump, play, and climb trees while wearing this no problem. We did end up buying 2 because the first one fell off. It wasn't lost forever though - we found it in the yard within a week. You can write your contact info on it in sharpie if you are worried about losing it. It doesn't fall off very often but it happens. (We've been using it for a month and it's fallen off twice, both times we found it in the yard). Easy to clean.

Cut the death rate in half.
Slug is not amused by his new anti kill bib. It’s cut the death rate in half. Not perfect, but better then a daily morning gift. Update 3 weeks after he got it, he came home without it. Wish it lasted longer.

Disappointing...
Unfortunately like several other reviewers, we put this on our cat, and within two hours she came back inside without her bib. Tried looking for it for a while, but to no avail. Though it is a great idea, I do think the bib was too big on my smaller-size cat, and the fact that it comes off so easily, makes me unable to recommend this product to anyone :(

Wow! A simple concept that really works!
I didn’t believe it at first, but this simple idea really works. Our outdoor cat was bringing home birds constantly, and it looked like a bird graveyard with half eaten birds. It was breaking my heart as I love to feed the birds. We tried other deterrents like bells and those bright colored fabric ruffs, but they didn’t do the trick. At first, I thought our cat would be so uncomfortable in the CatBib. But after giving it a go, our cat has adjusted quite well after a few days. He now looks forward to it as it means a trip outdoors and doesn’t seem to mind it a bit. He can run, jump, play, eat, sleep without a problem. We take it off of him in the evening (while indoors) and put it on just before going outside in the morning. Not a single bird kill so far… keeping our fingers crossed. One thing to note; the bib did seem to fall off easily with our original breakaway collar, so we ended up putting our name and number on the back of the CatBib in black sharpie. This has worked to get it returned from neighbors. Now, we’ve resorted to the elastic collar recommended by the manufacture which seems to be the best option. This make it so the bib doesn’t fall off easily but is still safe for the cat. Also, the bib does get pretty dirty, but is easy to clean with some warm water and soap.If you have this problem with your cat catching birds or other critters, please give the CatBib a try. The birds will thank you. Thank you for making a great product!

This thing really works!!
Purchased this bib for my son's cat as I was tired of her catching birds and bringing them into the house. There were days she would bring in 2 or 3, and who knows how many she caught and ate or left outside. After putting this bib on her she has not brought in a single bird and has only caught and ate one outside that we know of. Highly recommend this item. It looks funny on but it does work.

Excellent idea!
This is a great product. I was worried it would be bulky but it's actually very thin and light. Cats have a terrible impact on the bird population. It's funny how we accept that dogs have to be leashed outdoors but don't even think about cats. This is way less restrictive than a leash; all it does is make catching a bird a bit awkward so it has time to escape. A bonus is no more "gifts" of dead birds at your doorstep - or worse, of half-dead, broken, fluttering birds struggling to stay alive. All responsible people with outdoor cats should have this.

Works instantly
Although they look weird, since using this bib, with a few bells, my cat hasn't killed any other animals which is fantastic. He took a day to get used to it but afterwards he could climb, jump and run with it on. He just couldn't pounce. Expensive with shipping but effective.

Does not work
My girl cat of 3 years old is small and she came back home with the bib and a bird in her mouth. Blood was spattered on the blue bib.

Ideal for those who love both birds and cats
I felt guilty letting my cat outside and used to restrict her outdoor time because she had killed several birds. Now with the Cat Bib, I can let her outside more and she does not catch birds. She adjusted to the bib really well and has even climbed big trees with it on. Occasionally she has come home without it on, but it's large enough that it's easy to find. I purchased a second to act as a spare. Highly recommended!
