Fargo DTC1250e Single Sided USB Card Printer with Supplies Bundle (50605)

So far it's a great printer that is fast at printing the ID badges, we like the printer. But we ordered the package and haven't received the ID cards that were supposed to come with it. So we had to purchase extras. I did contact the company and they said they were looking into it, but that was 2 weeks ago and no response. I would buy the printer again as it's a good machine, but would purchase extra supplies like the cards to have on hand versus waiting and not having nothing.

Let me start out by saying the printer works perfectly! It was a replacement for a 10 yr old DTC lower model that I had. I had to download the drivers and install them and the printer and I love it. NOW, be careful when reading the add and thinking you are getting HID Cards. You are NOT!. "100 PVC cards" Means just that, they are 100 plastic pvc cards that are NOT HID or usable for any HID. They are plastic useless cards. Well I used some to test the printer so there good for not wasting REAL cards to test! ;) 4 stars for sending me 100 Plastic pointless cards! lol.

Ok this is not cool.  When I don't know what i"m doing. The instructions are not clear.  Tech support wants to only communicate via email and send links to web pages to download drivers and updates. Now the driver is not working at all. When I first received this printer I had to call for installation because the drivers were outdated and the tech support person had to walk me through it.  Now they want me to figure it out on my own, or pay an additional 200+ for phone support for a printer that is still under warranty and should be readily serviceable.  No one at any time told me that to receive phone support I had to pay.  He helped me get it up and running and I was grateful.   If you cannot give me adequate service with this printer that I purchased March 3, 2021, then I will happily send it back for a refund Right now, service and support on this equipment is terrible and to require additional money for a warrantied purchase is not good business practice.  I keep getting the same error message, I sent it to them. And nothing I did worked to resolve it. This is terrible for a warrantied product. There has to be a better way...I want a refund

I use the printer to make ID Cards. Was very worried printer would not work with my Linux Ubuntu 18.04 system. Turns you install the driver by following the instructions from Fargo, and you can select the driver the system later. The youtube videos available at the time of purchase didn't work for me for setting up the driver. The printer and old driver does work with Ubuntu 18.04 with minimal headache.

This printer paired with the Bodno Id Printing software Silver edition is fantastically easy to use. One of the great features of the Silver edition is the automated printing process using a csv file for importing our staff. The print quality is clear and true to color. The printer is faster than I expected, it prints about 4 - 6 cards a minute. I highly recommend the thicker PVC cards, the quality and sturdiness is superior.

Good machine work well...only time it give trouble it is when tge card jam

my was missing a lot of things the cards the license key it took for ever to get I might just send it back

If you have a Mac, DO NOT BUY this printer. HID has no interest in supporting the Mac operating system. The latest Mac OS driver you can download on their website for this printer only supports up to OS X 10.9 (which came out in 2013!!!). They did have a BETA driver which made the printer work up to OS X 10.14. However, when OS X 10.15 (Catalina) came out recently and I inquired about a new driver, the official response I received was: "MacOS 10.15: Catalina is not supported by our beta driver and there are no plans to support this MAC OS version or newer ones in the future." What's the bottom line? If you're a Mac user you've got to realize that HID does not care about you! Find a company that does...
