Swingshot Cyclops Allowed Me To Experience Swing Feedback & Improvement
Excellent product and excellent customer service. I was able to send a video from Arlington, TX to Orinda, CA home of the NorCal PGA Teacher of the Year and 2-time World Long Drive Champion. He evaluated my swing by sending me pictures taken from the video with critical comments. His thoughts are now included in my pre-shot routine & post-shot routine to improve club-head speed & distance.

It appears that these things have a serious design flaw
Didn't work out of the box. Customer service ignores inquiries.

Love it
Just wanted to say that I have owned a SwingShot for years, I don't go on the course without it. So much easier than a Go Pro and all the attachments and clips and whatnot, fits right in my golf bag. My kid uses it for batting cages too.

REVIEW OF THE SWINGSHOT CYCLOPS PRO+ SPORTS TRAINING CAMERA
The media could not be loaded. When I first saw the advertisement for this product on Facebook, I did what I always do and search for “Reviews” because I was looking for a way to record my golf driving range practices and when I played 18-holes. My wife has taken ill and no longer can come out and film with our digital video camera, which she introduced this type of training technique to me when we were overseas and the bottom line, seeing yourself on film is probably the absolute best training aid when it comes to the game of golf. When I went to the SwingShot Web Page I came across several negative reviews and found a few negative ones on Amazon.com; there were some incredibly positive reviews, but they were older by several years.I then used the “Chat” capability on the SwingShot web page to get some questions answered and the experience was not positive. Subsequently I wrote a “Buyer Beware” review on Facebook based on my experiences up to that point.I was then contacted by the owner of SwingShot, and we went offline to have a conversation. Based on the gentleman’s input, which included the history behind several of the negative comments which were rectified by the company and the reviewers did not go back and update their negative review, coupled with a promise to completely support his product I decided to take the plunge.WHAT A FANTASTIC PRODUCT!Upon receiving the SwingShot Cyclops Pro+ Sports Training Camera (herein called ‘product’) I read the accompanying User Manual twice to make sure I fully understood what was involved. To-date I have used the product five times the first four strictly on the driving range and today for 18-holes of golf.Of the four modes (Coach, Train, Game, Slow, and Photo Burst) the only one I have not used is the Photo Burst.TRAIN MODE: this I have used the most and once you get use to it, have your clubs setup for easy access, I found using the 30-seconds selection (choices are 10, 20, and 30 seconds) you can get in a maximum of three (3) swings; then you get ten (10) seconds to grab the next club and setup; you hear a beeping noise, the camera light goes ‘red’ and your next 30-seonds starts. As to placement, I have put the camera at a side view, a back view, and off-centered-front view (someday will take the bold step of directly in front). After downloading the session to my computer each file, containing my three shots, can be viewed and/or stopped and backed up if necessary, in order to see whatever golf swing position, you are concentrating on correcting and/or understanding. This is when I discovered the absolute clarity of the video the camera produces to include sound. By sound I mean I announce what club I am using and upon hitting the ball provide a quick description of its flight – depending on the time of day and the sky conditions you can see the beginning of the balls flight. As well, the field of vision that the camera captures are amazing.SLOW MODE: I have only used this once for about eight (8) shots; for me it is still a work in progress i.e., I am not sure I am doing it right in that the end product is not what I would call Slow Motion; again, it could very well be Operator Error. Quality of the video, area of viewing, and sound are just like in the TRAIN MODE – outstanding.GAME MODE: I had a great time out on the course today, did not shoot my best but got into the swing of using the product. Keep in mind the product is very light, the metal spike is perfect for planting the product in the ground and the procedure I used was: 1) set the product in the viewing area I wanted for the swing (Behind, Side, or Off Center Front); 2) get my club (tee if on the tee box), decide on where I am hitting my shot; 3) hit the green REC button; 4) setup, take a practice swing, and hit the ball to include verbalizing the flight of the ball or whatever I feel is appropriate; and 5) go back to the product and press the REC button to stop the recording and put the product back in my golf bag. Using this process today I had 68 recording shots (forgot on 2-shots during the round) and NO my score was NOT in the lower 70’s. With my playing partner we normally get in 18-holes in 2.5 hours (we are always the first off and never have to wait for someone in front); with the added feature of just recording my game this morning it took us a total of 3.0 hours to complete our 18-holes; the product was never a hinderance to the golf game.PHOTO BURST MODE: Have not tried it, so cannot Review this mode.COACH MODE: Have not tried it, so cannot Review this mode. The product is well constructed. The Power, Timer, and Mode buttons are not accessible once you have the camera operating. However, if you need to switch from TRAIN to GAME MODE it takes approximately 30-seconds to unscrew the camera section from the Camera Holder, change the Mode, and put it back into operation. It takes a bit of getting use to in that when you are applying power, selecting/changing mode or the timer, the LED Screen is on the opposite end of the camera so it takes a few tries to get use to manipulating the buttons (which you cannot see) while looking into the LED Screen to make your choices. If I were engineering the design of this product the only change, I would insist on making is the battery setup. I would add a ‘locking mechanism” when you insert the battery so that you do not have to press the battery down while trying to put on the battery cover; I would make the battery cover out of metal to ensure its durability, the plastic connections take a bit of practice for getting use to its operation.Connecting the product to your computer and downloading the videos is extremely easy and quick given the size of the files. Of the 68 videos taken today, the smallest video was 40,992KB and the biggest was 143,456KB with the average being 61,500KB; there was enough battery life to take all the videos and then download them to my computer; when that was done there was less than ¼ of the battery power left.Bottom line, I have golfing friends in the US, Middle East, and Europe that are serious about trying to improve their game and they are getting an email from me with my putt on the par 5/hole #5 and all three shots for the par 4/hole #15 (which I holed out with a chip shot and the camera got all of it to include dropping in the hole😊) and the link to the SwingShot web site. The ability, in the comfort of your own home to review and self-critique (or with the help my wife’s critical eye) your practice session on the driving range and/or your 9-hole or 18-hole round of golf is worth every cent spent on this product not to mention the tons of money you will save on not having to pay a pro to tell you what you can see for yourself (caveat – if you are just learning to play going to a professional will save you a lot of time and grief)!
