Frugal Prophecy
I am in love with the no-fuss, self published books that are sold on Amazon. I feel like they are the best to highlight and are the best if you like to write, sticky note, and underline like I do. I ain't got the time (or the budget) for a fancy binding because it's a short book and I need good quotes when I'm in the mood. It's a good book to give to a friend that's having a dark night of the soul or just likes the metaphysical vein of things ( and any Pisces that you might know, because we will drink this up in a second). Wisdom is the name of the game here and when you're looking for a little insight on the topics presented here, it's nice to have a no-frills copy that will stand up to annotation. If you're a typeface snob, skip this and go to something at a higher price-point. But if you're like me and have been reading this book online but enjoy the tactile experience of reading and annotating, this will get the job done.

An Ageless Masterpiece
While looking for books to help pass the pandemic, it occurred to me that I'd never read The Prophet. People I knew when I was in high school and college had read it and recommend it, but I never read it for myself. I'm glad. Now that I'm retired, and spirituality and mortality are so much a part of my experience,I see meaning and significance in The Prophet I would never have noticed as a teenager or young adult. At the time I thought I knew the answers to all of life's questions. Now I know that wisdom comes not from having all the answers, but from being honest enough to say, "I don't know."The Prophet is one of those books that never gets old. Each re-reading just opens new doors to greater understanding of the human experience. The Prophet is prophetic in the truest sense of the word.

Deep and Powerful Read!
Prophet is a series of 26 prose poems on every aspect of life written by the mastermind Khalil Gibran. It is so comforting listening to these words that it baffles me how can someone be so gifted with words. Khalil Gibran is a master of employing paradox with opposites such as joy and sorrow, togetherness and space in marriage, love for but not possession of children, and reason and passion. Khalil is definitely pride and joy to the world of literature with his lines being so relevant even 100 years later. As a "potentially spiritual but not religious" type, this is the closest I resonate to a sacred text thus far.A must read at least once in a lifetime (although I know I'm going to go back mulling on his lines quite often).

Soothing, quieting, loving
The book answers big questions of life in a beautiful, poetic, almost biblical language. It gives reassurance where there was doubt. There are echoes of Jesus speaking to the disciples before Ascension with a vague promise of return, possibly through reincarnation (through another woman.) The departure on a ship, a metaphor for final parting of death, brought me to tears. He speaks of wholeness of the experience of joy and sorrow and pain - they are one and the same spirit, like the object and its shadow.

Comforting words of wisdom most needed especially during the current difficulties we face.
I purchase 4 of these treasured books for my children this Christmas after my daughter and I discovered a copy at a ski lodge. After sharing Her dad's and my wedding reading from it, she was overwhelmed with joy. I was so happy to see Amazon had the copies. Now my daughter has purchased more to share with her friends. This book gives inspirational advise and comfort during the current most difficult times.

Could not put down!
After reading first paragraph I could not put "The Profit" down. This book is very well written. My Auntie who is 75 years of age told me about. She had it and gifted it to someone years ago. I even purchased her a copy as an early Christmas gift. Anyone who is Spiritual should read this book.

Good, but not great
It’s fine. Drawings and text accurate. But I was expecting to see the more robust, more sturdy, original red cover version. Good product. Zero problems, other than I should research more before I pulled the trigger. I was looking for more like the coffee table version. This is not that…but the content still bears trading, and sharing.

Loveless and poorly formatted
Make use of the Read Sample-Feature before you buy any book!Texts in the public domain are often (poorly) copy-pasted to make some easy money via the "Printed by Amazon fullfillment"-service. I cannot overstate how shoddy the formatting in this book is, the print quality is also low. A shameful waste of ink and paper.

leitura fundamental compacta
Este livro já é a palavra dourada, achei um pouco diferente/estranho que os versos da historia foram todos colados porém bom custo beneficio para quem precisa mais uma copia da máster obra.
