Best Purchase I've Made in 2019 (so far)
πTuesday, January 14, 2020 Review Update:Sabbat remains a powerhouse in the under $100 segment. However, I just want to give a heads-up that over the course of a few months of use, the ear-tops tend to come off sometimes when you just pull the earphones out of your ear.Other than that, the Sabbat remains one of the kings of the sub-$100 segment. --------------------UPDATE ABOVE---------------------The greatness of Sabbat true wireless headphones is a deep, wonderful mystery to me, given that I'm accustomed to hearing this full, thick, and sumptuous sound through devices that are quite a lot bigger, with wires sticking out. Here is the journey that led me to purchase the Sabbat, with no regrets whatsoever:π§ 1. I'm a quasi-audiophile and I've spent a lot of money chasing after the best speakers and headphones. When I like something, I tend to buy it in multiples. That is the case with my Bose Soundsport Wireless Headphones. At $129, they are not super expensive. But I've purchased 4 of them. In my opinion, they are better sounding and more comfortable than many higher-end headphones I've splurged on over the years.ποΈ 2. I come from the "live performance mentality." In live performance, everything is louder and you can feel the music moving the ground and the air. I'm happy to play with the knobs to make music come alive.π The Better the Sound, the More Expensive the Product? Not Always...Over the past couple of months, I've wanted to enter this new category of True Wireless Ear Buds. Usually, I start with the premise that the more expensive something is, the better it is likely to be. Of course, I've run across many exceptions to that rule.π ππππThe SABBAT is one of those exceptions. πππππPrior to getting the Sabbat, I had purchased five different true wireless earbuds. Two of them were garbage. However, a contender was the 1MORE, which I held onto for awhile keeping track Amazons return deadline. One thing that annoyed me about the 1MORE was that you have to reach into your pocket to adjust the volume. That troubled me because when I run, I always zip my phone into a runner's belt. So I was not thrilled about having to pull my phone out to adust the volume. Other than that, the 1MORE was pretty good sound-wiseBut when I got the Sabbat arrived and I tested it out, I returned the ποΈ1MORE.πΉHere is What Quickly Convinced Me to Put All My Eggs in the Sabbat Basket:πΉβ The makers of Sabbat have applied the principle of the "preemptive strike" of the 1960s. Attack competitors with overwhelming superiority in value and price.β When you open the box and look at the items inside, you will see something that reminds me of Sees Candies. That had me salivating. Instead of a tiny little cheap plastic bag with four earbuds for you to fumble with (and probably lose), you get seven sets of ear tips, each organized in individual holes. Now that immediately sent a subconscious message: "Dude...it is vitally important for you to spend quality time deciding which tips will give you the best sound give the unique size of your ear canal. Guys and Gals, I STRONGLY recommend that you experiment over the course of several days. On day one, I thought the largest green ones were the right fit for me. Then, while writing this review, I tried the two biggest red ones, and those offered both a tighter seal and even better sound than the once I initially thought were the right ones.β I was glad that wireless charging was supported and I immediately bought an Anker Wireless charger. What interesting are the first few days, I wore the buds for several hours a day playing Brain.fm. The charger took four days of all-day use before I had to place it on the Anker pad.(https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging-PowerWave/dp/B07DBX67NC/ref=sr_1_8?crid=32WI8D3GIFXPZ&keywords=wireless+charging&qid=1571366356&sprefix=wireless+charging%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-8)β The earbuds themselves look great. Mine are gunmetal and I'm happy to be seen with them wherever I go.β And they fit very snugly into my ear canals. During the first few days, I was a bit paranoid about having them fall out of my ear during running, but I'm confident that in the normal course of my exercise, they will behave.β As mentioned at the outset, the fact that volume can be controlled from the phone was important. That brings me to another area where the Sabbat shines: The layout of the buttons is intuitive and easy to remember. I especially like the way that, rather than clustering touch commands based on function, they instead used the foundation of right-hand / left hand, which is very intuitive.π£ 'll probably chime in in the future, as I notice other notable attributes of the Sabbat. But now this is all that comes to mind.P.S. I was curious about what the word Sabbat means. There are a number of definitions. My favorite is this: Sabbat are a thrash metal band from Nottingham, England, currently consisting of Martin Walkyier, Andy Sneap, Simon Jones, Gizz Butt and Simon Negus.

Great Sound. Long Battery Life. A Bit Too Slick.
I had been looking for a set of true Bluetooth earbuds for a while before coming across these. I was originally looking for a sub $50 set that allowed for independent pairing, APT X, and ideally had a wing to help keep them in my ears when exercising. Though there may be many options available now, there weren't any that ticked to those boxes roughly 12 months ago.So, I did what any normal person does. I compromised on my dreams. Fortunately, it worked out. I broadened my search and found the Besue Sabbat. Did it have the wing that I thought I would need to hold it in my ear when exercising vigorously? No. Did is come in sub $50? No. However, the areas I was most focused in they delivered in spades. Independent left or right module pairing? Check. APT X audio enhancement? Check. 4+ hour runtime with multiple charges via carrying case? Check. CVC 8.0 noise cancelling? Check. I realized that if I wanted quality I would need to pay for it.All in all I have been extremely happy with these earbuds. The sound quality and noise cancellation has been much better than I anticipated. I truly have difficulty hearing outside noises when these are going, even at a low volume. The microphone was also a pleasant surprise as I have had no instances where the caller has been unable to hear me or complained about my voice quality that wasn't directly related to my phones reception. No issues with Bluetooth connectivity with my Pixel 2 XL or laptop; connects quickly and very, very rarely has issues connecting or remaining connected. Audio quality isn't anything an audiophile would kill for, but will definitely give you a good overall tone for most genres without washing out the highs or overpowering the lows. Best of all, they do all of these while providing roughly 7.5-8 hours of battery life without recharging. As we all know, battery life is a range that is completely determined by how you use the device. My usage is a full work day with going back and forth between meetings and listening to Spotify, so they really are on all day. I used them daily and the battery hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. Finally, for all of the things I like about the Besue Sabbat earbuds, there is one thing that I have a big difficulty in dealing with. They are slippery. The glossed texture of the case and the earbuds themselves make them EXTREMELY willing to jump straight out of your hands and onto the floor, even if your hands aren't sweaty, wet, or oily. Fortunately, I haven't dropped them any place that would have been easy to use them but I tend to focus on handling these to ensure that that situation doesn't occur. They seem to stay in my ear well when exercising and don't feel like they will fall out. But, I do worry as I become sweatier that they may jettison themselves from my ears if I get too sweaty and attempt to adjust the fit. This may not be an issue for you (I do tend to get quite sweaty when working out), but it is the one thing I strongly dislike about these earbuds. If you're in the market for new true wireless earbuds and looking for a stylish look and long battery life, give the Besue Sabbat earbuds a try. Just make sure your hands are dry when handling.
