Revolutionary in concept, electronic ink is a fusion of chemistry, physics and electronics to create millions of tiny microcapsules about the diameter of a human hair. Each microcapsule contains positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid that migrates with the application of an electric field to produce an ink-on-paper appearance. To form an E Ink electronic display, the ink is printed onto a sheet of plastic film that is laminated to a layer of circuitry. The circuitry forms a pattern of pixels that can then be controlled by a display driver. These microcapsules are suspended in a liquid "carrier medium" allowing them to be printed using existing screen printing processes onto virtually any surface, including glass, plastic, fabric and even paper. Ultimately electronic ink will permit most any surface to become a display, bringing information out of the confines of traditional devices and into the world around us. Looking for a watch like this for a long time!
This was the first time I bought a time piece on-line. I was pretty anxious because I've been disappointed many time before when I finally get to see the watch live... there's nothing better than trying it on your own wrist to know it's a watch for you. This time around there were no stores that carried Phosphor watches in town, so I took the leap of faith...Beautiful watch! I feared it was going to be huge, particularly after noticing the double lock band, but it's not so at all.I agree with a reviewer elsewhere who said he thought he had gotten the prop watch with the sticker on the dial... the sharpness is outstanding and it's a relief to see the minute change. The band is very soft and pliable and therefore very comfortable. The orange accent goes along perfectly with the watch. All in all, 4 screens: time x2 ("analog" and digital), date and alarm. All of those black on white or the opposite (so I guess 8 screens). There's a beep with every push of the buttons and every hour on the dot which can be turned on and off easily. The screen blinks for a fraction of a second every 15 mins as screen-saver given the way E-ink works. In summary, this is a beautiful watch with a very different look that I highly recommend. Prices could be better, but then again what prices couldn't!

A bit pricey but COOL!
e-Ink display makes it look different and overall design of the watch attracts attention of those around you.Display is well readable under most of lighting conditions. May be hard to see in a very dark situations, so, a front lighting would help if it was implemented in the watch.Watch feels solid. Being water proof I would use it to swim, however, I do not want to damage a nice-looking natural leather band.It is a simple watch as far as features; price is a bit too high for what it is, but if you are looking for a unique piece, this may be for you.

Great watch! but not 50m water resistant
This watch is not water resistant to 50m (as specified).I had the watch only 1 week and it let water in whilst having a shower and the screen is now malfunctioning. As it is imported it will most likely be a hassle to return, so something for you to consider.Other than the above, it's a great watch and looks exactly as it does in the photo.

Good Watch
This watch is easy to read and very attractive; I get a lot of compliments on it. However, it doesn't have very many features that one would expect for a watch in its price range. Also, it tends to reset to the factory set time every few days. This makes it an unreliable option for a wake up alarm, since the time will reset.

Its what I expected
I love these minimalist designs. My last watch was a rosendahl and like some of the comments I've read about this watch, it would have been great if the rosendahl had back lighting, but it was not at the top of my requirements. I lived with it, and loved its simplicity, and got alot of nice comments about it, then I broke the band on my rosendahl, and on looking online for a replacement band with clasp, it seemed so expensive. I saw this watch and loved the way it looked. It actually offered me a little more than my rosendahl, like an alarm. I do like that every hour it sounds off with a subtle chime and when I'm at work its a good reminder if I know the hour has started and I have to run off to a meeting. Its cool and simple and tells me the time. Nothing more. So far so good. I haven't scratched the glass yet. If you tend to do more active work, chances are probably bigger it'll get scratched. I have a desk job so its been ok. I tend to tap the edges if I'm doing alot at home. It does have a large curved face so its liable. My rosendahl was thinner and flatter and I scratched that one, so its not a big concern for me. Overall I'm happy with this one.

An eye catcher!
This is one cool piece. The kind of watch the people look and ask you about it, the picture is not really accurate about how it looks but still it looks pretty cool, the leather watch is also a plus, very nice quality, if you want one watch that stands out from the rest this is the one!

Do Not buy this watch
When I bought this watch it was very nice and I liked it, except for the non back light but I got over that. The problem I (had) and I mean (had) is that the arm band kept falling off. I had the watch for a total of one month, and it fell off 8 times. One evening out it fell off again and I never felt it, so the watch is gone and that's $175 I will never see again. That was the first watch I have ever bought. The warning is do not buy this product the Sauer company obviously has a few issues going on with this one.

Leather Band is cheap and customer service is poor
I purchased this watch approx 1 year ago and have loved it. As many reviewers have said, it grabs attention and you receive alot of positive comment on it. However, after 1 yr a few problems have surfaced. The leather band is really poorly constructed. It started showing cracks after only a few months and finally broke on my about a month ago. The band is of course not covered under warranty. I contacted Phosphor to issue my displeasure and try to get the band replaced, and they have been completely non-responsive. Finally, I have noticed that this watch does not keep accurate time. Every three months I need to re-set the time, because the watch is off by five minutes. That's a quarter of an hour over the course of a full year! Buy with caution.Pros:Looks greatCons:Doesn't keep accurate timeLeather band is very cheaply madeYou're on your own if you have issues, zero customer service
